A few recent qualifications have now officially come through and it’s been great putting the training into real-world jobs like this.

This was one of the larger comifer dismantles we’ve taken on so far and involved careful sectional dismantling in a tight space beside walls, gardens and open grounds.

East Ren Gardens is still the same friendly local service, just now with more capability, more equipment and a growing focus on larger hedge reductions, conifer work and small tree dismantles.

Really appreciate all the support and recommendations while the business continues to evolve.

A good week's training with Treevolution Scotland on chainsaw maintenance, cross-cutting and small tree felling.

A lot of focus on safe working, accurate felling and timber handling.

Selective willow reduction and crown lifting on a steep access site in Clarkston to open up light and reclaim the garden space a bit.

All climbed and dismantled in sections with clear drop zones and a lot of dragging afterwards 😅

A few recent jobs from the last couple of weeks 🌿

Front corner garden renovation with old shrubs removed and replaced with new rhododendrons and a weeping cherry tree, along with some fresh planting and lawn work using the new Honda HRX mower. Nice seeing these gardens coming together ahead of summer.

Privet hedge planting transformation 🌱

Old tired hedge removed and area fully reset with new privet hedge planting. Ground prepared, membrane laid, single row planted and finished with bark mulch for a clean, structured line.
Nice finish and a good team effort on site 🌈

Heavy Hedge Reduction – Stamperland 🌿

Overgrown laurels and conifer boundary hedge reduced and reshaped, with all material chipped and reused on site where possible. Already a noticeable improvement in light and space through the garden.

Taking on hedge reductions, tree pruning and ongoing maintenance across the area.

Before ➜ After

This boundary hedge had become heavily overgrown with climbing vines and shrubs and was starting to spill out over the pavement.

We dismantled the vine mass, removed a small tree hidden inside the hedge and reduced everything back to the fence line. Much more light into the garden now and a tidy boundary again.

A bigger job than it first looked and a bit of rain thrown in for good measure, but a great result in the end! 🍁

Before & After – Hedge Clearance

The new owners had just moved in and the "hedge" hadn’t been touched in years. It had become covered in climbing vines and was spilling out over the pavement.

We cut everything back to the fence line, removed a small tree hidden inside and cleared the vine mass so the garden gets more light again. Hard work this one but always satisfying seeing the difference.

Recently passed my Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue assessment (NPTC).

A focused week on rope systems, work positioning, emergency response and controlled decision-making at height.

More training to come in March as ERG continues building formal capability in arboriculture.
