Today we rescued this fella from a chimney. He was likely in there for a couple days. It was a close call as the opening was very small and he was almost too fat. Shortly after we put him in the box he flew off without so much as a ta.

Before lighting a fire it's important to warm the chimney / flue first. This will push out the cold air that will act like a cork, forcing the smoke back into the property.

This can be achieved by burning paper, lighting a candle, making a small pre-fire and building from it, using an electric heat gun or blowtorch.

Since festival park closed in ebbw vale it has been hard for the owl sanctuary there to survive, it's still open and still caring for owls. We thought it was important to show our support for the place and the hard work they do!
