There is some incredibly exciting news that we are finally able to share with you.
We have had a fabulous few years at the brilliant Kehelland Trust and without them kindly allowing us to use their site (not to mention Duchy College Rosewarne for tuber storage) we would not have been able to save and re-establish the collection.
However, the National Dahlia collection has a new forever-home.
This means that we can include other important and beautiful plant collections in the garden for you to enjoy and allow us to extend our opening hours.
You’ll be able to pick your own (not only on our end-of-season-pick-day but ALL SUMMER LONG!).
You’ll be able to enjoy refreshments from the cafe.
As for the view from the new garden… To say that it’s special would be an understatement. A notoriously difficult to impress teen has described it as ‘Glorious’. Praise indeed!
Some thank yous…
A massive thank you to everyone who has been part of the dahlia family so far through weeding, mowing, deadheading, looking after the mother stock and supporting us when the task of managing a National Collection such as this has seemed a little overwhelming. The dahlias are very grateful.
Thank you to everyone who has listened to our dreams and not been too obviously bored by the D word 😉 (we are a little obsessed).
Thank you for every kind word about the dahlias, it means the world and we don’t forget them.
Thank you for the donations to the Cornwall Leukaemia Trust (you’ve helped us to raise in excess of £4K for this important local charity), this will continue to be the charity that we support in future.
An enormous thank you to anyone who has visited the dahlia collection, it genuinely makes our hearts sing to look across the garden and see people enjoying the flowers. We cannot wait to invite you to the new garden and experience this again.
We appreciate that you may be disappointed that you can’t visit this summer, we promise that it will all be worth the wait.
We will be open again in summer 2026.
