Do not adjust your screen settings!!!!😎😎

CJ Lawnscaping are embarking on our early Spring seasonal treatments and although it is still very early in the year, we think that you'll agree that the results are simply stunning!!πŸ‘πŸ‘

This time of year traditionally sees an increase in soil temperatures as well as the welcome sight of sunshine and longer hours of daylight which will naturally bring lawns out of hibernation.🌞🌞

Our Spring treatments consist of mechanical aeration and scarification (raking), top dressing, lawn renovations and our range of customised nutritional fertiliser treatments.

The warmer temperatures, combined with seasonal rain showers should help to bring the best out of your lawns over the next few weeks.🌦🌦

Our enquiry stream continues to flow and once again, we're experiencing our busiest ever Spring period!

If your lawn is letting down the rest of your garden then please get in touch for a no obligation consultation. We can be contacted either through this site or by completing the 'Contact' page on our website.

CJ Lawnscaping have just completed our late Winter lawn moss suppression and mechanical lawn aeration treatments as we look ahead to our busiest Spring ever!!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜€πŸ˜€.

Moss suppression is a late Winter application of a chemical which dehydrates moss and lessens the requirement for mechanical scarification later on. It also gives the grass a mini tonic and it's results can be seen in minutes!

Mechanical Aeration should be carried out at least every 3 years as a matter of routine maintenance and involves driving solid or hollow spikes (tines) into the soil. This creates channels to a depth of 4" into which air, water and nutrition can pass as well as relieving compacted layers and encourages healthier turf.

These treatments have been followed up with a low Nitrogen feed and moss suppressor and recovery time will be rapid now that soil temperatures are increasing.

The passing of overnight frosts has seen soil temperatures gradually rising and soon frequent mowing will return.

CJ Lawnscaping are just completing our programme of Lawn Moss Suppressant treatments.πŸ˜ƒ

This is designed to check the development of moss growth while soil temperatures are low, light is limited and moisture levels are high. It also has the added benefit of providing the lawn with a low level tonic to harden the grass as well as adding a pleasing green up effect. Often the results can be seen in minutes, with moss blackening and gradually becoming dehydrated.

The long, dark wet and mild Winter months have made moss more prolific this year, but our treatment stops it in its tracks before it becomes a problem. Any persistent moss can then be addressed in the warmer Spring months.πŸ‘πŸ‘

We appreciate the assistance of our clients in adhering to our Winter care guidelines such as retaining grass height at approx 2" and removing debris and leaves to enable the grass to breathe.

We're sure you'll agree that many of the lawns we maintain look amazing for the time of year!!πŸ‘πŸ‘

If your lawn is letting down the rest of your garden then please get in touch for a no obligation consultation to discuss how we can help.

CJ Lawnscaping are coming towards the end of applying our customised Autumn/Winter nutritional lawn treatments.πŸ‘πŸ˜€

It is always satisfying to see the transformation of any lawn and to make it the showpiece of a garden!

We take on a variety of new lawns, some neglected and requiring specialised treatment, while others just need a balanced programme to bring them up to scratch.

The lawns featured here had various issues, consisting of thatch, moss and w**ds and one had even been overdosed with fertiliser!😲😲. Despite a challenging Summer, we've gradually nurtured them back to health and we're sure that you'll agree that the results are breath taking!!πŸ‘πŸ‘

We've had our busiest year to date and it's great to continue to receive a steady stream of new and interesting enquiries.

Dear friends & clients.

As you are aware, CJ Lawnscaping support the Ehlers-Danlos UK Support Foundation.

A friend of ours Melanie Hartshorn unfortunately suffers from this condition. She has shown great courage and determination to undergo several operations in the past and despite that she had recently qualified as a teacher which is her passion in life.

She has recently been advised that she requires further surgery, which will dramatically improve her life.

Unfortunately, her surgery is not funded by the NHS and as a result, she relies on fundraising to cover her medical bills, travel and accommodation.

If you can make even the smallest donation, share her posts, or raise awareness of this deabilitating condition, then we just ask that you take some time out to read her story. If you could make a donation then the relevant links are listed.

Thank you for your amazing support and we offer our best wishes to Melanie.

Thank you.

Good news and bad news……

So I had my appointment this afternoon with the lovely thoracic surgeon who assisted in the big surgery I had 2years ago!

He said the good news is they can help surgically, and can take care of me and have a plan in place, which they could do in as soon as 2-3weeks time…. However it’s going to be expensive (that’s the bad bit 😭)!

I have no money so I can’t do that without the funds. Why is it that my life always seems to depend on money these days?! 😭

They’re working to get a quote for me now ASAP but it’s going to be expensive as I need a minimum of 3 ribs (probably 4 or 5) fused at the back - to my spine.

This is why it’s complex, the surgery needs the thoracic surgeon (the one who assisted in my other surgery) and MY neurosurgeon Dr Gilete to assist. As one of the spinal rods needs replacing with a new one, that will be compatible with the rib fusion system.

This is so they can connect the rib fusion hardware for all of my unstable ribs, to the spinal rods I already have -in my thoracic spine…. And this is why it needs to be done here, in Barcelona.

He said it’s important to have it done as soon as possible as they’re so unstable (usually only seen in car crash victims!) that they’re actually dislocating in all directions, when I simply breathe…. The big risk is that more ribs will become unstable, if left like this for too long….!

The issue there is that, the more ribs you have to fuse, the more restricted my breathing would be, for the rest of my life- and the worse the surgical outcome would be.

So it’s really important to have it done ASAP for that vital reason, let alone the fact I’m suffering immeasurably, with agonising pain just from breathing… which is triggering life threatening adrenal crisis constantly & proving impossible to manage.

My body simply can’t cope with the pain despite being maxed out on pain medications!

I’m fighting crisis all the time and suffering all the symptoms including blood sugar drops (so low they’re undetectable on the machine) before steroid doses.

As for my studies, I’ve started my PGCE & I’ve been watching my lectures from bed here despite being so unwell, but I may have to postpone or extend my studies if I can’t get surgery soon 😒 as there’s no way I can manage going into school whilst this unwell.

I’m so worried I’m going to have to come home, to fundraise…. and that too much time and damage will be done, and it will be too late.

If all my 3.4K followers could donate a tenner each, we’d be a huge chunk of the way there to pay for the surgery!

And if you can’t donate, please, please interact with my posts! Comment a πŸ’œ, like and share them all, tag people…. help spread the word!

It’s a free way to help and I appreciate it SO much!

Love & hugs,
From a very sad & desperate Mel

Thank you!

CJ Lawnscaping are currently working our way through our programme of late Summer nutritional lawn treatments. πŸ˜€

Due to the recent high temperatures and lack of rainfall, it has only been in recent days that lawns where watering has not been possible are at last showing early signs of recovery.

We're really proud of this lawn (first 3 pics) belonging to one of our existing clients that we've been working on since the beginning of the year. The lawn had been used as a storage area during construction work and had become compacted and infested with moss and w**ds.

We were able to convince the client that with a programme of mechanical aeration and scarification and the appropriate nutrition that we would be able to transform it to it's former glory and it would not need replacing. The results have been remarkable!!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

September and the Autumn time is an ideal period to restore damaged lawns as there are adequate moisture levels and high soil temperatures to aid lawn recovery.

As part of CJ Lawnscaping's continued support of the Ehlers-Danlos UK Support Foundation, we'd like to share an appeal for Melanie Hartshorn who suffers from this debilitating condition.

Unfortunately, this remarkable lady requires further surgery and is appealing for fundraising as her surgery and travel costs into Europe are not covered by the NHS.

We wish her all the very best regarding her health and fundraising. We also thank both new and existing clients for their continued support.

We appeal on her behalf to follow the relevant link to make a donation if you possibly can.

Thank you.πŸ‘πŸ‘
