I always get asked if it's worth servicing a boiler. The answers always yes as its how I make money, but here's a great example where not having it serviced for a long period of time can be problematic. This little slippery gypsy was pumping out nearly 1000ppm. My analyser shut down it was so bad.
800ppm+ is "death in less than 1 hour"
This was a boiler in a 93 year olds house and the only thing stopping the ppm escaping into the room was a seal which had actually cracked. Condense trap had split and was eating away at the case too.
Boiler capped off and a trip to toolstation to pick up an electric heater until we could get a new boiler in.
