Tall shrubs can look healthy but still be out of control
Just because a tall shrub looks green does not mean it is under control.
In March, many Cardiff gardens have shrubs that seem fine at first glance. However, when they start crowding a path, blocking a window, leaning over a fence, or taking space from other plants, they can quickly become a problem.
A lot of homeowners think the only answer is removal. In many cases, that is not true. The right cut can often reduce the height, improve the shape, and make the garden feel tidy again without losing the shrub completely. The RHS notes that severe reduction or renovation of some shrubs is often done in late winter or early spring, just before growth begins, so March can be a useful time to assess what needs doing.
At Greenleaf, we know homeowners want honest advice, not pressure. Our customer reviews often mention our clear communication, fair pricing, professional advice and the way we leave gardens clean and tidy after the work is done. That's how we aim to operate.
If your shrubs are getting too tall, too wide, or too messy, now is a good time to get them checked.
Would your garden feel better with careful shaping instead of full removal?
