Some jobs are such a pleasure to do - it doesn't feel like 'work' at all. This job wasn't one of those. Potchy and fiddly af - I even had to use tape!
Walls and ceilings Dulux retail Easycare pbw.
White woodwork - Bedec Aqua Advanced system, satin.
Black - Bedec MSP soft satin black.
Newel cappings and handrail additionally coated with Polyvine decorators varnish - satin - to protect from paw prints.
Tape - Masq low tack purple.
Brushes and roller sleeves - Prodec Ice Fusion.

Owners had inherited walls that had a very undesirable texture. I've never come across a texture quite like this before, whatever it was, it was in the paint. It felt like 80 grit sandpaper.
I surfaced all the walls with the toupret skimcoat, light sand and then all the usual prep. Some board edge cracks in the ceiling were also attended to. Walls finished in Dulux Jasmine white, door and trim, Dulux trade W/B satinwood.

4 day turnaround on this terraced house in Tylorstown.
Helped by a plasterer who did a proper job, and valspar v500 being presented to me.
Tips. After mist-coat new plaster is still very porous so the first coat of v500 i thinned out with water. It's an extra job to do and the temptation might be to use as it comes out of the pot. But it's a fast drying paint and the porosity of the plaster will speed that up.
As a result it will be inevitable that you will leave roller witness marks, and they will remain showing through subsequent coats.
You need the paint thin enough to give you some flow and therefore time to work with it for the best results.
You will have more time with the next coat because the first will have reduced the porosity, but i still thin a little, esp in the kettle you are using for cutting in

Extension room in a house in Bryncethin. 2 days of stripping existing, prep and painting.
Then a day today papering all four walls.
Paste-the-wall wallpaper. I have said it before, so much quicker and sraightforward than paste-the-paper folks
