This customer had a front door which was no longer secure! I cut out a section of the door frame and replaced it with a hard wood piece which was cut to just the right size. Some strong wood glue and a few screws followed by a quick sanding and some wood filler and the door is secure once more.

A quick window cill replacement. Customer wanted a rustic look to replace a tatty, plastic cill. I love working with reclaimed timber. This old scaffold board is waxed and coated in a satin varnish to repel water. The grains and patina in this piece are beautiful and inject some rustic charm back into this cottage.

I was recently asked if I could reduce the width of this settle. After some persuasion with my trusty mallet I managed to dismantle the piece and make the necessary cuts before rebuilding. All it needs now is a light sanding and a lick of paint.

Fences and gates. I just completed this job in Cyncoed. The customer had just completed a house extention and wanted a new fence and two gates for privacy and security.
I needed the big breaker to pe*****te the concrete and dig a hole for the post. Some 4x2 rails keep it looking neat. Once the fence was up I built two solid gates in my workshop. Half lapped and braced, glued and screwed - these are incredibly sturdy gates!
It was back to fit the gates and hardware and its job done. Take a look at the process 👇🏻

This was a garage conversion from last summer. It took me 4 long days to transform this garage into a garden room space. Raised and insulated floor, framed out the room, fully insulated, plasterboarded, spotlights and sockets installed, sliding door installed, outside lighting.... and a few beers to celebrate!
