At last, summer weather allowed us to make a start this week on prepping this beautiful cottage just outside Newcastle Emyln.

After completing some interior work last year we were thrilled to be asked to return to give the exterior a make over.

Scaffolding booked from Sureframe Scaffolding and going up end of the month ready for painting in July.

Removed old paint using drill / angle grinder with flexi discs, 2 coats of Armstead Red Oxide primer followed by Dulux Metalshield in Satin Anthracite 👌

Sometimes you have to remove layers and layers of old oil paint that have been building up over the years. The only way to do it properly is by sandblasting it off. Very dirty, messy and noisy but will definitely make the finish so much better.👌

Condensation damaging a ceiling above a shower is quite common especially if there is no vent close to shower.

Crack repaired using Toupret Fill Flex followed by scrim tape, Toupret Filler, and Dulux Uniprimer. Ceiling painted using Zinsser Perma White - Mould Resistant Paint 😊

This has been without question the most challenging ceiling repair we've had.

Wall to wall ceiling cracks caused by a loft conversion above plus someone unfortunately coming through the ceiling!!

We used.....

Zinsser Peel Stop, Toupret Fill-Flex, Scrim Tape, Toupret Interior Filler, Dulux Uniprimer, Dulux Trade Ultra Matt Ceiling Paint.
