Our new (to us) 12" chipper landed yesterday and dropped straight at a site today in preparation for tomorrow. Capable of chipping up to 35 cube an hour, this will be primarily paired and fed with our 3 ton Bobcat, both available for immediate operated hire. 🌲🍟

This month we have been busy on Bassenthwaite Common removing conifers, or by ring barking to create standing deadwood habitat.
This is to encourage natural regeneration of native broadleaf species, such as oak and birch, through the removal of these Larch, Pine and Spruce. The individual trees are scattered across approximately 85 hectares of open moorland, much of which the ground has been particularly difficult! But with bird nesting season round the corner, this project will be circled back to in the autumn.

Taking dead & dying larch out of this woodland today. Timber away for biomass & firewood.
Soon to be under planted with native hardwoods. Aaron even had a little sweat on! 🌲🤣

New year, new sites starting & a new contract begun for Forestry England which we started this week clearing storm damage over access roads and mountain bike trails. 🌲

*Chainsaw & Brushcutter Operatives required*

To help with a busy work load, we are looking for Chainsaw & Strimmer/Brushcutter/Clearing Saw operatives to join us on a self employed basis. Based near Wigton.

Minimum requirements;
• Full clean driving license
• Honest, reliable and confident, but not cocky and arrogant
• A 'can-do' attitude & a keen eye for detail
• Own an alarm clock - reliability IS an absolute must.
• Good sense of humour
• Good understanding of a generic risk assessment and basic health and safety
• CS30 Crosscut & Maintenance, CS31 Small Felling & First Aid +F
• CSCS is beneficial but not essential.

We take great pride in the work we do and a reputation we are very proud of. In return of a good day's graft we will pay you in full & on time. Pay subject to experience and ability.
