🌞 A Little Bit of Sunshine 🌼

Today was all about soaking up the beauty of nature! We took a lovely stroll to the allotments, where we sniffed some gorgeous flowers and admired vibrant veggies. 🥕💐

We even had a chat with a friendly hen! 😂

Back at home, our courtyard garden welcomed us as we watered plants, weeded away, and fed the chirpy birds. 🐦

Every moment is precious in this little paradise.

Choir 🎶

Today we warmed up our voices with the lovely Sarah! 🌟

Sarah comes in once a month to share her passion for singing, and we're hoping this is just the start of something beautiful with our Greenlane choir. 💚

We enjoyed belting out some classic favorites like "Our Bonny Lies Over the Ocean" and had fun with rounds including "There Was an Old Man Called Michael Finnigan." 🎤✨

Can't wait until next month for more musical magic! 🎵💖

Today, our amazing residents gathered around the table 🎨✨

We glued and stuck, cut and painted 🖌️✂️. Together we created beautiful pictures to hang up for everyone to enjoy.

Some even crafted stunning butterflies that fluttered with color! 🦋💖

🌞🌿 A Lovely Start to the Week at Greenlane! 🧩🎲💃

What a gorgeous day it’s been! We managed to sneak outside while the sun was shining 🌞 and got one of our garden beds weeded 🌱✨ Honestly… how fast do these weeds grow! The garden is really starting to flourish and it’s such a joy to see everything coming to life 🌼🌿

Then it was time for our monthly visit from the ever‑energetic Mish 💃🎶
She had everyone moving and grooving — stamping their feet, waving their arms, smiling and laughing together. Her sessions always bring such a buzz to the home ✨💛

Afterwards, we continued with our jigsaw 🧩
What a brilliant team we make — helping each other, searching for pieces, celebrating every little win. Such a lovely, calming activity that brings everyone together.

We also enjoyed lots of games of dominos and snakes & ladders 🎲🐍⬆️
Taking turns, using our number knowledge, keeping our cognitive minds active — and most importantly, having fun together! 😄

National Beer Day

Today we are raising a glass to celebrate National Beer Day — a chance to enjoy one of the nation’s favourite drinks and reminisce about the good old days spent at the pub with friends and family.

For many of our residents, a pint brings back fond memories of community gatherings, celebrations, music, laughter, and sunny afternoons in a local beer garden. Today has been full of conversation, smiles, and sharing stories from years gone by.

Whether it is a traditional ale, a refreshing lager, or a non-alcoholic favourite, days like today are all about enjoying familiar comforts and meaningful social moments together.

Celebrating The King’s Birthday – 13th June

Today we are celebrating The King’s Birthday and marking the occasion with plenty of patriotic spirit across our homes.

Our residents are enjoying a wonderful day of celebration, reminiscing about royal occasions through the years, sharing memories, and coming together to enjoy good company, music, refreshments, and activities fit for the occasion.

Royal celebrations often bring back special memories for many of our residents, from street parties and coronations to family gatherings and community events over the decades. It is always lovely to hear the stories and experiences shared together on days like today.

🎉🎂 What a fabulous Friday!

Today we celebrated a wonderful 80th birthday and enjoyed an uplifting session with Music for Health — double the joy, double the smiles! 💛🎶

✨ We shook our pom poms, rattled our bells, sang our hearts out, and even conducted our very own orchestra together! 🎺🥁🎼
🧠 James’ music quiz got everyone thinking, laughing, and joining in — such a brilliant atmosphere!

🎂 After all that fun, we gathered to sing a big, warm Happy Birthday, followed by a delicious buffet lunch and some absolutely beautiful cakes that went down a treat 🍰😋

A day full of music, movement, celebration, and community — just how we like it 💛

Today we are celebrating “I Used To…” Day — a wonderful opportunity to share memories, stories, skills, and experiences from years gone by.

Our residents have so many fascinating life stories to tell, from careers and hobbies to adventures, family traditions, and unforgettable moments. Days like today encourage conversation, laughter, and reflection as we look back on the things we “used to” do and the memories that helped shape our lives.

Whether it was:

💃 “I used to dance every weekend…”
🍰 “I used to bake for the whole family…”

Football‑Themed Colouring at Greenlane ⚽🎨😁

With the FIFA World Cup on the way, we got into the spirit today with some brilliant football‑themed colouring ⚽🖍️✨

We picked out some lovely pictures to bring to life, and there was lots of chatter and laughter 😄💬
Stories flowed about playing football as kids, kicking a ball around at school, and the memories that came with it 🏫⚽💭

We admired our masterpieces together — the colours, the detail, and of course had a giggle at our hand‑eye coordination 😂👏
