This is a perfect example of why you should get your boiler sericed annually. Called out to a Worcester boiler not working. It turns out the boiler had not been serviced in years.
What you see in the main picture is a damaged baffle.
Damaged or failed baffles in a Worcester Bosch boiler pose significant risks to both the operational efficiency and safety of the unit. Baffles are designed to control the flow of combustion gases, and when damaged, they can lead to severe, costly, and even dangerous outcomes, particularly with the heat exchanger.

I've been spending a lot of time in attics lately, and my knees don't like it. But it was worth it to replace this tired and old rusty Vaillant in the airing cupboard for a new Worcester 8 year warranty combi into the loft.
This has created extra space where needed downstairs. Customer very happy. Knees not so much.

While I was fitting a new boiler for one of my regular customers I was lucky to be given an advance copy of this new book containing some wonderful pictures of Carmarthen. Most of these pictures I've never seen before.
The book will be in local shops at the end of October. I highly recommend getting one. Great memories.

Modernising an existing theme that the customer wished to keep. Working in this small area in the recent heat was an experience. Removing multiple layers of old tiles!
Including new downlighters on a freshly skimmed ceiling this job was completed in time for the guests due to come. Completed in conjunction with CWJ Renovations.
The customer is delighted with it.

This was a tight fit! A modern, efficient Worcester combi boiler with an 8 year warranty fitted into a small airing cupboard where the old hot water cylinder was located.
The new boiler is over 20% more efficient than the old Back Boiler it replaced.
New boiler, condensate pump and magnetic filter all squeezed into the small space with room still left to add shelves.

The importance of an annual boiler service! Working in a hot attic space today to repair this Vokera boiler today which was not working due to a blocked condensate trap. As you can see this boiler has not been regularly serviced. Even budget boilers need love!

The importance of getting your gas appliances and system serviced and checked annually. This was spotted while carrying out a gas boiler and fire service for a new customer. What you see in the red box is an isolation valve for water use only. These are known to leek so are not 'an appropriate fitting' for gas pipes. It was found to be passing gas. It was removed and and replaced with an approved fitting.

A tricky (with less than 1 metre height up to the trusses) but enjoyable installation recently done for one of my favourite customers. A new boiler and horizontal unvented cylinder to ensure plenty of hot water delivered to multiple bathrooms.
