A great recovery on this new-build lawn after suffering severe leatherjacket damage.

The lawn was originally treated last autumn, which successfully controlled the majority of the infestation. However, one stubborn hotspot remained and continued to cause damage.

Just 4 weeks ago we retreated the affected area, carried out overseeding and applied a quality top dressing to encourage recovery.

The results speak for themselves. 🌱

Leatherjackets attack the root system of grass plants, but with the correct treatment plan and a little patience, even heavily damaged lawns can be brought back to life.

Watering Advice During Dry Weather ☀️💧
With temperatures soaring and lawns under stress, watering correctly is absolutely vital.
Water early mornings or late evenings only
Established lawns are far better receiving 3 long deep soaks per week rather than a light daily sprinkle
Aim for around 30–45 minutes per area using a sprinkler to encourage deep root growth
Daily shallow watering encourages weak rooting and surface stress
Dog owners 🐶
Immediately dilute all dog urine with a watering can full of water
In hot weather, urine scorch marks become far more aggressive on dry grass
When mowing:
Raise your cut height slightly
Longer grass blades help shade the soil, retain moisture and reduce stress on the plant
A lawn can recover from drought. A weakened root system takes much longer.
Think deep roots, not green leaves.

Temperatures are set to hit 20°C this week ☀️

Give your lawn a deep soak tonight, Wednesday and Friday night after 9pm for 30–45 minutes. Deep watering encourages stronger roots and better drought resistance. 🌱💧

A little water now saves a lot of stress later.

✔️ Install a top-of-the-range robotic mower system

All fully managed and delivered by Lawngevity
This is where we come into our own, bespoke equipment, golf-course style machinery, and a soil-first approach to transform large-scale lawns properly. Last week, it received its first ever treatment……and trust me, the before & afters are going to be special 👀

Morning thoughts from a small business owner…
(Saturday Bliss, competiting at Opus gym with Gary and then watching Ulster Rugby make the finals in Spain)

Why is it that when things get busy… social media is the first thing to fall off the list?
We’re a small team (3 of us), and the last 30 days have been full-on, we’ve onboarded 37 new clients 🙌
But at the same time… our social media reach is down 25%.
So it got me thinking…
Does social media actually work?
Who’s really seeing it?
Or are we all just shouting into the void half the time?
The truth is, when we’re quiet on here, it’s not because things aren’t happening…
It’s because we’re out doing the actual work.
But maybe that’s the bit we’re getting wrong.
