I have been on a journey to create an energy efficient home for sometime, with the installation of a Heat Pump being the final element in the project. Having had a couple of failed attempts with the UK’s largest energy provider due to the complexities of fitting the pump to an older house I looked for a local specialist.Worth noting that prior to installation, to maximize the efficiency of a heat pump I had already installed insulation, solar panels and a battery system, therefore I was looking for someone who really understood my goals and challenges, Tom very much met these requirements.He conducted a very detailed analysis of of the house to establish the buildings heat loss, this in turn guided the size of the pump required and the best system setup, it cannot be over stated that a correct system design is everything if you want the heat pump to deliver its best performance. Tom made an excellent job of this and was so enthusiastic about getting the design right.He is extremely tidy and diligent in his work and was able to work around challenges that arose such as the fitting of a new hot water tank in a very limited space.Lastly and most importantly, Tom is really enthusiastic and interested in the subject and wants his heat pump installations to really preform well. If you are looking for someone who really understands the subject and can help you get things right then Tom is the man to go to.

I can't remember now how we first came across Asset Plumbing & Heating but I'm glad we did; they have been servicing and maintaining our boiler for quite a few years. They recently undertook an annual service and had to break the bad news that the heat exchanger in our boiler had a crack in it (which explained why we had been topping up the boiler for several weeks to maintain a reasonable pressure). Tom outlined his views about boiler options (including the possibility of repair) and we went with his recommendation of a new Viessmann boiler. Tom rearranged his schedule so that he could fit our new boiler the very next day. Beautifully neat job, completed in less than a day, and once again a reliable hot water supply again. I have no hesitation in recommending Asset Plumbing & Heating as an utterly trustworthy and reliable company with honest and clearly explained advice, usually offering a number of options for you to consider. Brilliant service.Update May 2026:Eleven months on from the installation of our new boiler we've just had our first annual service. Boiler has been perfect (so lovely to have utterly reliable hot water) with a very useful wifi control that allows us to monitor and adjust it. Service was efficient and the price is so reasonable for such an impressively professional company.

Thinking about getting a Heat pump but feeling confused by all the mixed advice online?

You’re not alone.

Most homeowners I speak to are worried about the same things:
