The finished result - Ballymoney hall, stairs & landing ✨

Remember the stripped walls and paper on the floor from a few weeks ago? Here's what it looks like now. Superfresco Easy Emperor Grasscloth Sage throughout, woodwork freshened up and everything finished to a clean, sharp standard.

That grasscloth texture adds something really special to a hall - it's subtle but makes a huge difference to how the whole space feels. Really happy with how this one turned out and delighted for the customer. 🏡

Full hall, stairs & landing redecoration in Ballymoney. Wallpaper all stripped, woodwork ready for sanding and walls prepped before anything else happens. The stairwell always takes a bit of setting up properly but that's how it has to be done.

Porch, Hall, Stairs & Landing Transformation - Coleraine 🏡

A full interior refresh completed recently here in Coleraine, covering everything from the front porch right through to the upstairs landing.

Walls painted throughout in Belgrave Mill using Crown Trade Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt - a tough, washable finish perfect for high-traffic areas like halls and stairways. All woodwork, panelling, balustrade, newel posts, doors and frames finished in the same Belgrave Mill colour using Crown Trade Fastflow Satin - keeping the tone consistent while the contrast in sheen between walls and woodwork gives a really refined, considered finish. Ceilings painted bright white throughout.

The statement wallpaper is GoodHome Ammo in Dark Teal, hung above the dado rail from the front porch through the hall and up the staircase. A bold botanical pattern that adds real depth and character without overpowering the space.

Work included full preparation, ceilings, walls, all woodwork, stair balustrade, newel posts, panelling, doors and frames, and wallpapering - a complete package from top to bottom.

🏠 Work in progress — Hall, Stairs & Landing transformation underway in Coleraine!

Swipe through to see where this one started - bare pine panelling throughout the full hall, porch, and staircase, freshly fitted by a joiner and ready for us to work our magic. 23 panels in total across the whole job, plus a full dado rail from front door to landing.

Before a single drop of colour goes on, it's all about the prep. Every knot treated with knotting compound (see slide 4!), fully primed and filled throughout. This is the part that most people never see - but it's exactly what separates a finish that stands the test of time from one that doesn't.

When it's done this space will be fully colour drenched in a beautiful warm tone with feature wallpaper above the dado in the hall and porch area. Finished photos coming next week - you won't recognise it! 👀

The finished room is here and it did not disappoint 🎨

Three days in Portstewart - old wallpaper stripped right back, walls sealed with Zinsser Gardz, filled and sanded, ceiling freshened up, woodwork painted and two full coats on the walls. Every step done properly, no shortcuts.

The colour is Farrow & Ball Drop Cloth 283 mixed into Crown Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt. All the luxury of that beautiful warm taupe at a fraction of the Farrow & Ball price tag - and tough enough for everyday family life. A little trick that every good decorator knows 👌

That warm tone sitting against the crisp white fireplace surround and the black stove - absolutely love how this one came out.

Sunny Portstewart this morning - old wallpaper that's got to go!

My setup is dead simple - a garden sprayer, Zinsser DIF and hot water. Top layer peels straight off, two good soaks and the rest comes away clean. No fuss, no damage to the plaster underneath.
This is the unglamorous bit nobody sees, but get the prep right and the finish takes care of itself. That's the Swanson Decor way 🙌
