The Palace of the Deposits and Consignments (CEC Palace) in Bucharest is a masterpiece of French Beaux-Arts, Baroque, and Renaissance architecture, designed by Paul Gottereau and completed in 1900. Located on the historic Calea Victoriei, the building stands out with its grand glass and metal dome, ornate columns, and sculptural details that reflect Romania’s late 19th-century elegance.

Once a powerful symbol of national prosperity, the palace still houses the CEC Bank headquarters today. With its richly decorated interiors, marble staircases, stained glass and intricate mosaics, it remains one of Bucharest’s most iconic landmarks and a perfect example of the city’s “Little Paris” charm.

Cotroceni Palace in Bucharest was designed by French architect Paul Gottereau in 1888 for King Carol I. Blending Neo-Renaissance and French Beaux-Arts styles with Romanian elements, it was built on the site of a 17th-century monastery. Today, it serves as the official residence of Romania’s president and also hosts the Cotroceni National Museum.
