I still have a few slots available for fortnightly grass cutting in Writtle.

Regular visits are on Fridays fortnightly commencing 12th April.

£25.00 for a standard size lawn front and back. Edging and stimming included.

All equipment is supplied.
Access to the rear garden through a gate is a must. I don't take equipment though a house.

A customer's dog got out in the winter and completely ruined his lawn running around when it was wet. First 2 pictures.
On the 25th May I attended and scarified the lawn and prepared the bare area. Second 2 pictures.
I returned today to check on it and top dress some areas that had not taken. Last 2 pictures.
This is after 6 weeks from sowing and we have had a heat wave. He watered it with a sprinkler every evening for 30 to 45 mins as directed and despite the heat this is the result before a first cut. In another 2 weeks he will have his lawn back.

This is a sown lawn. If it had been turfed it would have suffered from the heat.
You can get a full lawn in 6 weeks from seed , depending on the weather, and it is stronger as it roots directly into the soil unlike turf which has had it's roots cut and already at a disadvantage.....and it is cheaper.

The customer's dog destroyed the lawn over the winter running around on it while it was wet. Churned up the grass so badly it uprooted it.
I scarified the remsin lawn area after cutting low. Loosened up the bare side and put on 125kg of top dressing. Grass seed and fertilizer next and raked in. Plenty of water and in 4 to 5 weeks there will be a new lawn.

Before and after pictures. Very overgrown lawn. Too much for a standard strimmer so the big guns came out with the self drive powered strimmer.

A lawn that has not been worked on for 20 years.
First picture is the Scarifying. Second taken by the customer 2 weeks later and the third after a first cut 4 weeks after.
It was scarified , over seeded and had fertilizer added.
It will improve more as the weeks go on.

This lawn had a lot of Moss in it as the sun does not get on it all day. A week ago I treated it for moss with liquid iron. Today we scarified it, added slow release fertilizer and re seeded. I had to go quite hard on the lawn to get the cuts in the top soil for the seed to drop in to germinate. Two weeks time it will be due for a first cut.

My mother eventually got me to visit this weekend to do her lawn. 28 years down with nothing really done. Lots of thatch due to it being a fescue grass. The rain was not getting to the roots so was only growing at the tips and this caused the ground to crack in the summer. There was over an inch deep of thatch. Any way four hours later , lots of thatch , fertiliser and re seed. Happy mother and me on a busman's holiday.

No job too big .... especially for family ( and I got dinner in the pub up the road😁)
