My latest project has been a wonderful challenge to restore a 17th century timber frame property. The side gable wall and front elevation were completely rotten and beyond repair. I rebuilt the entire side of the property with seasoned structural Oak using traditional Carpentry methods of joinery. We insulated in-between the oak studs with natural sheep's wool insulation and covered the exterior with breathable savolite boards and insulated Lime Plastering to finish. New oak drip sills were added to protect the Lime finished walls from surface water ingress

The interior was designed to leave the Oak Frame exposed with Lime infill panels.

All natural materials that allow breathability and improve the quality of airflow within the home, no mould or fungus can survive with Lime, lime all the way.

The rescue and rebuild of a beautiful fisherman's cottage in Aldeburgh Suffolk, this project has been incredible and a privilege to be part of. Stripped back to the Brickwork and restored using breathable and sustainable natural materials, oak beams were installed instead of steel to open up the downstairs living space along with oak herringbone flooring , lime plaster, sheep's wool insulation and Lime external render, Finished off with Keim mineral paint.

Restoration to a beautiful fisherman's cottage in Aldeburgh Suffolk.
We uncovered a hidden fireplace opening, restored the Brickwork, opened up the living space to produce a large open plan living room.
Because conservation is at the heart of our business, using traditional materials is absolutely vital, we use seasoned Oak for structural repairs ( English woodland company)
We finished the walls, ceilings using Best Of Lime warmcote and limecote insulated Lime plaster, I highly recommend this Lime plaster, fantastic workability and a beautiful finish that allows the property to breath, plus keeping the grade ll listed property authentic.

Oak weather drips, savolite board and Warmcote insulated lime, Warmcote is by far the best lime product I have used both internal Plastering over lath and exterior, Thank you Martin at Best of Lime.
