This project focuses on extending and reshaping an existing property to create additional living space and a more balanced architectural composition.

The design introduces a two-storey side extension and a full-width single-storey rear extension, together with roof alterations that replace the existing box dormer with three new dormers on the front elevation.

The entrance porch has also been reworked to strengthen the visual focus of the façade.

Planning permission has now been granted, allowing the project to move forward to the next stage.

Do you prefer subtle extensions that integrate with the existing house, or more contemporary additions that stand out?

A carefully considered extension scheme designed to transform this existing home while maintaining its relationship with the surrounding context.

The proposal combines a two-storey side extension with a single-storey rear extension extending across the full width of the property. Roof modifications at the rear and the introduction of three front dormers replace the existing box dormer, helping to refine the overall roof composition.

The entrance porch has also been redesigned to create a clearer and more welcoming arrival.
Planning permission for the project has now been granted.

How important do you think the entrance design is in shaping the identity of a house?

Two-storey side extension and full-width rear extension proposal for this existing detached property.

The scheme introduces a new two-storey side volume combined with a single-storey rear extension extending across the full width of the house, significantly improving the internal layout and living space.

The proposal also includes roof modifications at the rear, replacing the existing box dormer with three new dormers on the front elevation, along with a redesigned entrance porch to better define the main access to the property.

Planning permission has now been granted for the development.

What do you think about introducing dormers to improve both space and the overall character of a roof?

A project deeply rooted in its landscape, where the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces defines the experience of the house. The architecture blends traditional forms with a contemporary approach, creating a place that feels timeless and strongly connected to its surroundings.

A closer look at the completed home, where volumes, proportions, and details come together to create a simple yet elegant composition. The building stands firmly in its rural context, balancing tradition and modern comfort.

A look inside the finished home, where simple and refined details bring warmth and character to the spaces. Every view is designed to create a dialogue between architecture and landscape, offering both comfort and a close connection with nature.

Which detail would you choose for your own home?

The progress on site reveals how concepts and drawings gradually take shape. It’s always fascinating to witness spaces evolving step by step, moving closer to what was once only a vision.

Would you rather see the “behind the scenes” of architecture, or only the final result?

From paper to reality: the first steps on site are always special. Watching ideas slowly rise from the ground is a reminder of how design transforms into something tangible. Every stage is a step closer to the finished home.

Behind every built house lies a long process of drawings, sections and technical details. From the first concept sketches to full construction drawings, every line carries a decision that shapes the final building. In this case, the design was guided by sustainability, modern living needs and respect for the surrounding context.

Do you prefer to see architecture through drawings or only in its final built form?

Right beside a Grade I listed parish church, the site was dominated by an agricultural shed in poor condition.
The historic setting demanded sensitivity, any proposal here had to respect both the church and the character of the conservation area.
This was the starting point for the design journey.

Could you imagine a new home taking shape in such a context?

The existing shed was a deteriorating structure of corrugated iron and timber posts, patched many times over its life.
From different angles it revealed its fragility, its patchwork repairs, and its contrast with the surrounding heritage.
This first part of the panorama already shows why a new vision was required.

Do you think structures like this should be preserved, or is replacement the right choice?
