When this job came in, the brief was to create an outdoor entertaining area for a young couple who were very keen on cooking. Their desire was to be true to the local area and use Cotswold stone to create an outdoor kitchen area fitted with modern appliances ready for any occasion. Stainless steel units were fitted throughout to provide a fridge, drawer units, a cupboard for cooking equipment and waste disposal. Cooking during the summer can be thirsty work, so an ice trough was fitted within the polished concrete worktop to keep those drinks cool. Lighting was fitted to the wall and electrical points installed out of sight. A stone raised bed was built to continue the use of local stone and the tired lawn was ripped up, levelled and relaid. To border the new lawn, a dwarf picket fence was installed with matching archway and some climbing star jasmine. Three pleached hornbeams were planted to give the garden some much needed privacy. All in all, a fantastic use of the space and ready to receive guests this summer.

This job was recently completed in Bishops Cleeve.
A 70m patio was constructed across three levels to provide a large open area for entertaining, a BBQ area, pathway to the garage and storage at the rear of the garden. Sleepers were used to frame the tiers and lighting installed to provide a glow to enjoy the beautiful porcelain paving. A really stunning change to this garden for lovely family to enjoy.

Another whole garden renovation recently completed in Bishops Cleeve. This time we built a large paved area along the entire width of the house using sawn Kandala sandstone in mixed sizes. An accompanying pergola was fitted with a custom sized sail shade to add a large seated area out of the sun. Not wanting all the patio to be shaded, a circular sandstone feature patio was laid using matching Kandala stone. A large vegetable bed was built and surrounded with gravel for year-round access. Several other timber beds we constructed along the side of the garden and tiered to follow the sloping gradient of the garden. A manageable-sized garden fitting the bill for all weathers and events.

This whole garden renovation required some extensive planning to tick off all of the elements for the client. A large lawn area and an old decaying tree were removed to make way a large paved area featuring two raised beds. Finished in a monocouche render to add a clean and modern look to the garden. The paving is sawn Kandala sandstone. On the site of the old shed, a pergola was placed for future vertical climbers, again, keeping a modern aesthetic. The lawn was levelled and the grass relaid using ornamental rye for a deep green and soft feel, leaving plenty of room around the outside for planting. A small area at the back was filled with a few rolls of wildflower meadow and some fruit trees. Lastly, the old deck was removed and replaced with new hardwood boards.

Another recently completed job, this time in Bishops Cleeve.
This large garden had been left with a small paved area by the developers and the clients were looking for something to compliment the space.
By dividing the spaces to follow the contours of the pavilion reception room, we created three spaces to utilise. Each was levelled and finished with Pure Mint Indian sandstone in the larger 900 x 600mm pavers with tight 5mm joints to compliment the clean look. A total of 60m of paving was divided up into the three areas.
The garden had a steady incline to it, so a short retaining wall was used to compensate for the height change, finished in pitched walling stone and capped with matching Indian sandstone. To break up the large paving, edging stone surrounds all the key lines.
A large 2.5 x 3m raised border was included in the design to bring some planting into the paved area to break up the aesthetics.
Large spaces for different purposes will be suited to many situations for entertaining, relaxing and getting hands dirty with the gardening!

This job was recently completed in Prestbury, Cheltenham.
A new build property with a steep sloping muddy bank provided a blank canvas for the clients. Our design incorporated a retaining wall which allowed us to level off and provide a large lawn area for a young family. To make up the difference in height to the rear of the garden, timber raised beds encompassed the surround and included an integrated bench seat. A large 40m2 patio was laid along the back of the house using honed Kandla grey Indian sandstone. A sweeping set of steps were built to lead up to the lawn and steps to garage were replaced all using matching materials for continuity. Borders were built into the pathways along the side of the house and paving taken all the way out the front, along which a bin store was built with timber screening.
A garden fit for a family and making the most of the challenging terrain.

Here's a little job we finished in Bishops Cleeve this week for a newly built property. Scroll to the end for before shots.
16m² seating area at the base of the garden with a gravel and paved walkway, large 20m² paved area off the back of the house and a new walkway to the garage entrance. Finished with 98m² of tilled, levelled and rolled turf.
The paving is honed Indian Sandstone in Kandla grey, 900 x 600mm.

Here's a little job we finished recently in Moreton in Marsh.
The entire garden was redesigned to feature a large decked area with raised beds for the client to feel immersed within the planting. The decked area was laid diagonally to open out the perspective towards the rest of the garden to make the most of the space. A well established Prunus was kept in the corner with the decking built around the trunk of the tree.
Intricate pathways were laid using honed Indian Sandstone with granite setts, laid to creature feature borders. A raised paved area will be used as a BBQ area when the weather allows!

This latest completion in Moreton-in-Marsh added a bespoke composite deck from the Envirobuild Frontier range. Finished in teak effect with a custom bench and cut-outs complimenting the folding doors. In additional to this, the garden was given some decorative planting areas with blue slate, a BBQ area and bin store with slatted panelling. And if you have young children, we can even finish it off with a sand pit!

Really enjoyed laying this Koto black limestone this week. Along with constructing a pergola and creating a new path, the garden now has much more character to it.
