AFTER/BEFORE: Adapting a Home Before Our Client Moves In 🏡
This project is a great example of how accessible bathrooms start with planning around real life — not just fitting new fixtures. Our client was moving into a new property and uses a walker every day. The goal was to have the bathroom fully adapted before move-in, so the space was safe, comfortable, and ready from day one. A few key choices made all the difference:
🚿 A full wetroom with no tray or enclosure
No step, no narrow entry, and more space to move safely with a walker.
🦶 Slip-resistant Altro flooring�
Designed to provide grip even when wet — a simple but powerful way to reduce the risk of slips and falls.
💡 An easy-to-use large light switch�
Small details matter. Larger switches are easier to use for anyone with reduced grip or mobility.
We also worked closely with the wider project team and the client's design to make sure everything — from layouts to finishing details — worked seamlessly together. Before passing on the baton to the painters.
