Project complete ✅

This garage conversion is now finished — transformed from an unused garage into a warm, fully insulated, usable living space in just 11 days from start to finish.

🔨 Garage Conversion – Days 4 & 5 | Big Milestones Reached

Two very productive days on this garage conversion — the project is now moving from structure into services and finishing prep.

Day 4 progress:
✅ Finished stud wall framing, finalising the room layout
✅ Installed the consumer unit, preparing for full electrical supply
✅ Completed first fix electrics, running cables and positioning outlets, lighting points, and switches

Day 5 progress:
✅ Core drilled the external wall to allow for MVHR extraction
✅ Installed and positioned the MVHR unit, improving ventilation and air quality
✅ Fitted loft stilts to raise the ceiling level and allow for insulation depth
✅ Insulated the ceiling to improve thermal efficiency
✅ Plasterboarded the ceiling, bringing the space another step closer to a finished room

This conversion is now well on its way to becoming a warm, energy-efficient, fully usable living space — a far cry from the cold garage it started as.

🔨 Garage Conversion – Day 3 (Big Progress Today!)

Epic day on the garage conversion — loads achieved and the space is really starting to take shape.

Today’s progress 👇
✅ Finished floor insulation
✅ Laid 18mm flooring, creating a solid subfloor
✅ Fitted vapour barrier to the walls for moisture protection
✅ Stud work installed to most walls, forming the structure of the new room

It’s great to see this turning from a cold garage into a proper, insulated living space.

🔨 Garage Conversion – Day 2

Back on site today continuing the garage conversion.

Today’s progress included 👇
✅ Installing a plastic vapour barrier to help protect against ground moisture
✅ Fitting the floor joists
✅ Installing most of the floor insulation to improve warmth and energy efficiency

This stage sets the foundation for a solid, warm, and long-lasting floor structure — a key part of turning a garage into a comfortable living space.

🔨 New Project – Garage Conversion | Day 1

I’ve started a new project today, converting this garage into a fully usable room.

Today’s work focused on the foundations of the conversion 👇
✅ Applied the first coat of liquid DPM (damp proof membrane)
✅ Coated the entire floor and 1 metre up the walls
✅ Creating a moisture barrier ready for the next stages of the build

This is a crucial step when converting garages, helping to protect the space from damp and ensuring the room is suitable for everyday use once completed.

I’ll be sharing daily progress updates as the project develops, so keep an eye out for the transformation 👀

My latest customer had installed sound-deadening in their garage and needed the ceiling plasterboarded properly to finish it off.
