This Cherry tree in Ottershaw wasn’t looking too happy. Quoted in dormant phase - we arrived on Friday to a struggling looking Cherry. We changed the spec slightly and opted to take less off the tree and a complete deadwood in hope this tree rejuvenates. Plenty of water going forward.

How many ropes do you want on one branch? Bank Holiday Monday last week brought us to this Sycamore located next to what’s usually a very busy road. Having seen the tree on Friday we arrived on Monday - luckily having the lack of rush hour traffic due to the bank holiday. We tied up the limb as precaution in case it would break at source, letting us take as much weight out as we can that was not under any tension or compression. We then worked out that the limb would break off its collar, so removed enough of that wood for the limb to hang above, while not hitting the fence. It was then a case of removing the tensioned wood wedged into a neighbouring tree and lowering the limb down safely. The tree was down safe by 9:30am with zero disruption to traffic.

Big job clearing these Mixed conifers out in Godalming. All felled and ground out for replanting to maximise the space of the property. Remaining topped. 🏆💪 Huge shout out to the guys for working late in the horrible weather on Thursday to make sure this got done on time and for a class job grinding out the stumps with great care 🏆💪

Any ideas as to what kind of pruning these trees received in the past? Re pruned this time round to rebalance and relieve important weight out from the extremities to prevent these large limbs from snapping out, both trees covered in cavities and old scars from what I imagine is previous storm damage. Made much safer and hopefully with future pruning they can manage these old Oaks to keep them standing.
