For me this garden typifies the meaning of 'zhuzh'. I wish I'd taken a before photo because it was already beautiful but for my lovely customer it has lost it's 'vavavoom'. So over a period of months we've 'zhuzhed-it-up', we've had some extra help from Mother Nature with the extra rain & the beautiful fox gloves we've taken advantage of, but now it gladdens the heart every time you set foot in it. A true English country garden 🥰🩵🥰 obviously the photos never do it justice

Very proud of this project.... here's the pics of where we came from to where we are now! Planting 1100 bulbs in November has brought so much joy to this happy customer of mine... the daffodils arrived first & then the tulips & now the alliums and camassia will take us through into June before we start Summer/Autumn planting...

As our 90 year old Mum keeps telling me when we talk about the weather 'it's a BlackThorn Winter'.

This hedge of BlackThorn bushes reminded me of it.

What is BlackThorn Winter, you may ask? It's the wintry weather in the spring that is known as "blackthorn winter" - an old phrase to describe colder spring air - originating in rural England where the confusingly-named white blackthorn blossom blooms in the hedgerows and mimics the springtime snow or frosts in the adjoining fields. Quite true for 2023 in my book. Happy Monday 🍀
