Seasonal Living
Celebrating SJ and her wonderful third book - an almanac for Home & Garden.
Hosted by the very chic The Folde | Creative Workshops, Events & Homeware, a perfect setting for such a delicious book.
With the most exquisite viola decorated mini cakes by and foodie contributions from Chiltern Ridge Apple juice - whose recipe for Suppengrün is included in the book and many friends and familiar faces it was right good fun.
Thanks all for a fun and fab night. 💜

What a heart filling weekend.
The most perfect, joyous, country wedding.
Lazy lunches, carefully curated coffees, seaside running, art, architecture and sculpture, friends and family and simple seasonal flowers despite the scorching sunshine.
A very special 3 days away in Sussex.

Summer time.
Quintessential, village summer event.
The sun shone, the ice-creams sold out and the Pimms stall was drunk dry. But cups were awarded, prizes given and proud growers, arrangers, embroiderers, artists and visitors alike all went home happy.
A brilliant afternoon. 🌸🧡☀️.

Iconic
The Oak. Freighted with symbolism, mythological powers, and national identity. Mighty Oaks have inspired poetry, song, and innumerable representations in art and design.
With one of the most easily identifiable leaf shapes I have always been drawn to images and representations of oak trees, a fact not missed by my brilliant friend who never misses an present opportunity with something ‘oaky’ - the gorgeous carved spoon and dinky gilded acorn dish, a bespoke design by LG Studio just two treasures I’ve luckily received over the years.
And from to the Oak Leaf is a brand identifier.
But just how lovely are these oak leaf designed printed fabrics, all from female entrepreneurs - whose love of nature and textiles have combined to build hugely succesful fabric business supplying the interior design and retail markets.
Kent based , Sussex based and Cotswolds based - just a few of the very many fabrics and wallpapers available today.
And now I discover .uk make an oak leaf biscuit, my day is made.
Edible and beautiful in equal measure!

1-3 Zandra Rhodes - meticulous cutting, draping and the zingiest of colours and patterns. Never forgotten a lecture she gave at the V&A when we were at college, many moons ago. A totally captivating woman.
4 - Splendid pink s***f ‘slipper’ box and Stork shaped ribbon threader. 🎀
5 - Cheering road side Leopardbane 🌼
6 - Early Queen Anne’s Lace lighting up a tree stump 🤍
7 - 11. Views around . Peacocks and spring planting, plunge pool gazebo and gloomy somewhat omnipresent? overbearing? overwhelming, dramatically cloud pruned high yew hedges. 🦚
12 & 13- Spring 🌷
14 - 16. Browsing in . Spotting leopards and a very welcome coffee in the sunshine. ☕️☀️😎🌞
