Easter 26 - Hardscape completed! Our latest landscape design and build in collaboration with

Designed with our contemporary design expert this garden is becoming a masterclass in modern, chic coastal design.

Hardscape choices reflect the lines, materials, colour and forms used in the structures, linking the house with the landscape and drawing the eye to the sculptural forms of the buildings.

Now ready to plant, the landscape is about to really come to life!!

Taken today, a rare dry late autumn day and the planting in this garden is still putting on a display!

The value of ornamental grasses at this time of year cannot be understated, providing colour, form, movement and seasonality.

There was but this has been cut back as the recent wet weather has not agreed with it! We will avoid this one going forwards as it doesn’t stand in wet weather and collapses under its own weight!

Some lovely 🍁🍂 this week - Rose Cottage, one of our projects in the South downs was looking particularly lovely.

We’ve had a particularly good autumn weather wise this year and it’s really allowed the gardens to recover from the very dry weather that we have had in the summer!

The - part of a large landscape project we designed and installed, nearing the end of its second season as a completed garden!

To think that 3 years ago, non of this was here, and it was a blank canvas.

The garden wall made from and built by frames the space and give a timeless framework and backdrop that makes this space so special.

Planting has been designed using drought tolerant species including and that, combined with diligent ground preparation with the expertise of has allowed the scheme to perform beautifully throughout the summer, coping with the lack of rainfall and still looking great now at the end of September!

Structure and form are central to the design of this large garden we built last year for some amazing clients!

The landscape has been designed around a stunning property designed and built by of and his team of artisan craftsmen

Now coming to the end of its second growing season, the clipped box pleach trees enclosing the swimming pool have filled out and the trees, topiary elements and perennials have established softening the views and blurring the edges between the built and natural landscape beyond.

During the autumn we will be planting a range of bulbs to enhance the spring display as well as continuing with the development of the perennials and wild flower meadows.

Inviting autumn scenes at this project, now entering its second autumn since competition!

The planting frames the architecture of the house designed by and built by , rooting the house into its surroundings.

The design of the landscape and for the autumn, in particular the selection of grasses and perennials used ensures a long season of interest and there is a fine balance of structure, colour, movement and form that will enhance the scene both towards and from the house for many weeks to come!

Landscaping progressing on this ultra modern project for

Paving by and installed by

The landscape, designed in house by our own talented will dovetail the house and hardscape with the surrounding landscape, framing stunning views over the water.

Planting has been designed to be both drought resistant and tolerant of salt and high light levels whist providing a long season of interest.

Hardscape has been specified to complement the architecture of the house using natural and modern materials.

We will be posting progress over the coming weeks as the build progresses!

The swimming pool in the walled garden! Completed in 2024, enjoyed in 2025!

We designed this space to provide intimacy, shelter from the prevailing wind but with a view to the countryside beyond.

The pool is surrounded with extensive Mediterranean style planting to provide an immersive experience for those using the pool and adjoining entertaining spaces whilst being low maintenance and resistant to our increasingly hot summers!

Sometimes, a garden comes in to its own when least expected, and surprises you with the sheer resilience of nature!

We designed and have built this garden over the last three years and this year, in one of the driest spring and summer seasons ever, this happened!

Please scroll through! Taken yesterday on an average day weather-wise these pictures represent what can be done with diligent soil preparation (clay soil that holds wet in winter and dries like concrete in summer) and clever planting design!

The planting has done amazingly, helped by efforts of you .goddard in keeping your planting dead headed and weeded! You are becoming an accomplished gardener and should be really proud of this - it is stunning.
