Progress is moving fast with the top half of the building now complete, masonry fully restored, and doors carefully prepared ready for finishing coats.

This stage included:

✅ Restoring damaged walls ready for masonry paint

✅ Full preparation of original doors ready for finishing

✅ Continued repairs and detailing across upper elevations

✅ Completing the top half of the building

Phase one is underway on this full restoration of a historic listed building in Southampton. From securing deteriorating masonry to carefully preparing original windows, every step is about preserving the building while bringing it back to life.

Scope of works includes:

• Removing flaking paint and stabilising masonry

• Filling, priming, and applying premium Dulux masonry coats

• Taking windows back to bare timber and re-puttying

• Carrying out all work in line with listed building regulations using approved materials

Pool House Transformation
The Upper Level + Gym Finish

Following on from our last post, here’s the second half of this standout project, focused on the upstairs space and gym area.

The design brief was bold, and the materials were unique with a lot of reclaimed timber, natural finishes, and carefully chosen paintwork to complement.

✔️ Mezzanine floor finished in whitewashed reclaimed timber

✔️ Gym area left raw in timber, with detailed paintwork only on doors, frames, ceiling and skirting

✔️ Every stair, spindle, frame and board completed to the highest standard

This project was a reminder: when vision and detail come together, even reclaimed materials can feel premium.

A huge amount of prep went into this one! Before a single brushstroke, our team spent nearly three weeks refurbishing windows with Repair Care resin, raking out cracks, and repairing masonry & chimneys using Toupret Mason filler.

Once prepped, we painted all masonry walls with Weather Shield, restored and painted the woodwork (windows, doors, fascias & soffits) with primer, two undercoats, and Dulux gloss for a flawless finish.

Front and side doors finished in sleek black, windows in classic white gloss, and garage cladding brought to life with barn paint in Chestnut Brown. Every inch of this scaffolded property received our full attention - even the dormers!

From start to finish, this transformation took just under two months, and the results speak for themselves.

Ongoing Project: Old Vicarage House, Aldingbourne. This property needed serious attention - and that’s exactly what we gave it.

Before any painting could begin, our team spent nearly three full weeks prepping the exterior:

• Raking and repairing cracked masonry

• Restoring chimneys with Toupret Masonry Filler

• Refurbishing timber windows and doors with Repair Care resin

Once prep was complete, we moved on to:

• Painting all masonry walls and chimneys with Weather Shield

• Full restoration of exterior woodwork: windows, soffits, facias, and front door surround

• High gloss black for 3 feature doors, and white gloss for all windows

• Barn paint chestnut brown finish for garage cladding

• Two dormer windows prepped and glossed

All done at height with full scaffold in place

We’re still finishing this one off, but it’s already looking sharper by the day.

Another example of proper preparation leading to lasting results.
