Its really nice to work with stone and to repurpose all of the existing material. We could not get any machinery in so it was decided to cut up the original large steps into individual blocks and face them to match the coursed stonework of the house. When we dismantled the original step it soon became clear that it covered a large void that dropped down to the base of the cellar. We solved the issue by building off a reinforced concrete pad around the hole and placing concrete lintels over. The steps and patio were finished with sandstone and a bullnose finish ground into the edge of the steps to soften the look.

Block paved driveway. Following the ground levels and bordered by a brick wall growing out of the ground at the higher level. Tumbled blocks laid following the curved wall to create interest. I lay all block driveways on a concrete reinforced base to prevent the all to common hollows where cars continually park.

Raised deck built under the back patio doors dropping down onto a patio with built in seats and log store. Cedar fencing and rendered walls.

A large town house in a busy part of town. The original drive only had 1 parking space in front of the garage. The owners had children approaching seventeen and desperately needed to be able to park more vehicles. We removed over 200 tonnes of earth from the dig out of the original steep sloped front garden. Retaining brick walls in imperial sized red brick to match the house. Terraced planting beds were incorporated to help soften the look. You can see how the planting developed in just 2 years.

A simple but effective garden. The original red brick wall at the bottom of the garden made a great focal point and this was enhanced with the planting of single white stem birch tree (Betulis Jacquemontii). The red brick path carried on the theme and links the garden to a new pathed area at the back of the house. The slope was removed by dividing the garden into two levels. Finished with simple planting as not to over complicate.

This garden was built to link the existing garden building to the house. A formal style garden, based around a water feature. The centre of the garden was lowered to create interest. Reclaimed brick laid in a herringbone pattern compliments the victorian red brick town house.
