End of a busy week with plenty of stumps removed. Some big, some small, some dead and some recently felled on this thinned woodland. A total of nearly 100 stumps and many daffodils avoided. Really pleased with the end result.

Had a very wet start to the week, was great teaming up with again from .treecare on this heavy reduction. Weather very rarely puts a stop to play and we crack on. I do prefer the cold over the wet days and this week we've had both.

Recently we had the pleasure of working on a London Plane tree in Standish that had a preservation order in place (TPO). For this job I got a colleague to help who I haven't worked with for a few years. Finn did the climbing on this one and it was fantastic to see how far this young man has come in his climbing and pruning ability since we first met.
The specification for this job was prior agreed and accepted with the customer and Wigan Council through their TPO application process. This ensures we stay within the limitations of the TPO. The general overview was to reduce the overall crown spread leaving a natural and balanced shape while conforming to the recognised British standards.
It was a delight to work on and we look forward to more of the same as the season brings these trees to life.

I have had a fantastic year and would like to wish everyone I have had the opportunity to work with in 2024 a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I'm already looking forward to a great 2025 but for now its feet up, family time, a few drinks and some good food. Thanks again and all the best!
