A small cottage kitchen refurb in south cerney .
Complete protection of new tiled floor.

We then lowered the ceilings by 60 mm to allow for new spotlights.

Keeping the timber on show because who wouldn't ?

Adding insulation before boarding and skimming.

All walls prepared for a lovely new kitchen

Board and skim on these flat ceilings
Getting the top half done off a scaffold, it was a lot of up and down😅

Wall finishes are a solid traditional sand and cement.
Building out and making obvious deviations. Also known as "skip trowel" creating a texture and depth to the walls as the client wishes.

Rounded but not perfect corners.
But attention to detail throughout 👌

This client has worked on new builds for many years and gave me a specific finish that he was happy with.

We applied a traditional sand and cement render x2 coat,scratch and float with a multifinish top coat, and intentionally left the surface rough and textured to create an aged and authentic feel.

I spent a long time testing out finishes and textures with this client, making sure we were 100% happy with the finished result.

Some plasterers would argue it's easy leaving a "rough" finish .

To get a wall with a specific finish . No trowel lines or obvious deviations takes a lot more work and patience than you think.

This was the starting point of finishes to continue throughout the project .

Its not to everybodys taste, but then again, it's not your house 😄

It won't be long until this lovely couple are finally moved in and enjoying their dream home ❤️

The first phase of the poole Keynes job is the master bedroom!

Vaulted ceilings fully insulated, then boarded and skimmed for a clean, sharp finish while keeping the character of the exposed oak beams.

Next up, finishing the walls with a rustic cottage feel — using sand and cement on all new block-work.
natural textures, subtle tones, and solid craftsmanship to bring the whole space together.
