Tho I’m no longer a carpenter or car painter these days. My ‘hobby ‘ seems to becoming more and more adventurous, as a side project with folk music find new frontiers on Felixtowe radio , With Roger Pettit and his weekly Roots and shoots Monday hour .

Further to X-rays from doctors, it has been established i have twisted tendons that stops me returning to physical carpentry work and so i have de-registered this Hadrian Waters Kitchens and Carpentry with HMRC
The good news, is, due to wearing kneepads for almost all my 40 years of fulltime carpentry, my knees are .well preserved !

Walking and driving are still issues that cause problems, but im assured these things take time, baby steps.
Achieving fitness goals always creates two steps backwards at the moment. Everytime i think i can walk, it causes inflammation. The further i try. So, ?? Onwards n upwards.

Kitchen design will be my next venture. !
Putting all my building, carpentry and kitchens knowledge together. T
hankfully i can still lift a tape measure, and spend my days visiting places, in an automatic company car, designing kitchens and overseeing installations for any agency, or who or private clients.
NB, My services are not free, and often takes around 6-8 hours tsite survey, plan, design, costings, supply and delivery so
A deposit of £300 prior to onsite inspection is how we roll.

Premium sports hero’s receive ultimate private healthcare when they are unable to continue in a physical career .
Carpenters without ‘Premium industrial state protection ‘ are mainly called lazy , given a ‘clip around’t lug oil ‘ , and forced back to physical work .
In spite of not being able to work past few months , I finally got a ‘Fitnote ‘ for 4 weeks .
Waiting for physio and get a swimming pass ?

Sad to say, all my physical work has been cancelled until further notice .

Physiotherapy Carpentry ,
first job since my knees turned arthritic. Scan results n doctors tomorrow and still can’t kick as ball yet , but thanks to months of light duties , the swelling on my knee is ‘almost ‘ normal . Still a bit to go .
Couldn’t have done it without my helper tho , who watched me eat some fine authentic home made food , along with his pittance of a wage .
We only fit the balustrades, handrail and bottom rail . The twisted , quarter-spaced, staircase was installed by her husband . FIY innit ! In my home village of Allerton . Me and my customer Corsa , went to the same school ( 17 years apart ) Back in the hood innit !

Whatever your Garden project is this summer ?
This is the only way to mix concrete .
It’s the same method used since the days of Methusla ( As we love in Buttershaw )
Lots of stores selling ‘Postmix’ concrete , making the user believe that you can add the mix dry , into the hole , then pour water on top and all will be fine ??? ‘BIG MISTAKE!’
Always mix in a bucket . Add Water first always .

In the 40 years that I’ve been a carpenter, I’ve have avoided working for U.K. house builders .
If I go out for a Michelin star meal ! I’m assured good food 99% of the time .
‘Five star builders award for past 10 years .
A customer of mine asked me to fit his laminate flooring on his brand new £280k Barrett House . He wanted me to do it exactly like their ‘Showhouse ‘ so took me to have a look.
The big shame is the kitchen and bathrooms were all of a similar low quality installation , cheap cabinet hinges , twisted units , marked doors and plaster spots all over the floors .
The type of ‘house bashing , poor quality installations were done by the same team of barter tradesmen on all 400 homes on a new complex .
The lady in the showroom was flabbergasted when she saw my quality of installation. ( and quarter the price , Barrett’s wanted £7200 for laminate flooring to this area . £279 to change a double socket to a USB socket .
