A great day of football for our Under 14 girls at the R & T Tours Festival in Silloth! 💜💛
Our Decking Design sponsored team faced strong opposition throughout the day, taking on Mirehouse, Silloth and Dalston.
The girls started with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Mirehouse, followed by a tough game against eventual winners Silloth. Going into the final group game against Dalston, a win would have secured a place in the final, and the girls gave everything to make it happen.
After falling behind, the team showed fantastic determination, with Iyla scoring the equaliser to get us back into the game. The girls continued to battle until the very end, creating chances and pushing for another goal. In a dramatic finish, goalkeeper Megan even went forward for a last-minute corner, coming agonisingly close to grabbing an equaliser.
While the result didn't go our way, the effort, commitment and team spirit shown throughout the festival were outstanding and something everyone at Decking Design is proud to see.
Well done girls for representing the club so brilliantly, and congratulations to Silloth on winning the festival. 💜💛👏
