A SKODA, Range Rover and Volkswagen were stolen during night time break-ins across East Lothian.

Unfortunately as the clocks go back, crime becomes more prevalent.

There have been recent break ins and attempt break ins in East Lothian.

Please be vigilant and keep your vehicle and property safe and secure and look out for any suspicious activity both during the day and at night.

Keep your vehicle safe and secure by doing the following :
🚗 Lock your vehicle
💡 Park in a well light area, ideally with CCTV
🔐 Make sure you know how the security features on your vehicle works and set an alarm/immobiliser if you have one
🏡 Keep your house doors and windows secure
🔑 Keep your keys hidden and out of view of windows, perhaps keep them upstairs. If you have a keyless entry, store keys as far away as possible from the vehicle and/or in a signal blocking pouch.
🚗 Consider adding a tracking device to your vehicle if it does not have one.

Keep your house and other property safe by doing the following:
🏡 Keep your house doors and windows secure even when you are in the house
⏰ Make sure you set your house alarm if you have one
🔐 Add extra security where you can
🖊️ Security mark your property and note serial numbers
📹 Consider investing in CCTV and/or doorbell camera

Any suspicious activity day or night should be reported to Police Scotland on 101.
Always call 999 in an emergency
