There are some great websites and other sources for ideas and background to supporting nature in the garden. Few come more authoritative than the RHS so we’re featuring the link to their own Wild about Gardens website.
It’s a fantastic resource.

Take action for wildlife in your garden by taking part in this joint initiative between the RHS and The Wildlife Trusts. Help create happy homes for British wildlife!

We are very lucky to have helpful organisations like Essex Wildlife Trust and Beth Chatto Gardens locally. They provide advice and inspiration for wildlife freely and authoritatively.

Here John Attiwell, (Community Ranger at the Wildlife Trust) and our own Dr Chris Gibson, Wildlife Advocate at Beth Chatto Gardens) give their advice about plants for butterfly caterpillars and year round pollinators respectively.

Are there any budding Martin Scorsese’s or Ridley Scott’s in Wivenhoe that would be interested in helping us out? 🎥🎬🌱🌻

The Gardening for Nature team intends to make some short videos of how an existing garden can be enhanced for nature recovery. The aim is to produce something that might inspire people who are interested in making their gardens more wildlife-friendly but don’t know where to start.

If you’d be interested in volunteering your time we’d love to hear from you! Please send us an email at [email protected]

Thank you!
