Coolsaragh is a home that blends timeless architecture with contemporary luxury in a stunning rural setting in Mid Ulster.

The two-storey residence features generous family living spaces, sweeping gardens, and panoramic views towards the Sperrins. Its elegant form, complete with a hipped roof and curved bay projections, creates a sense of grandeur while sitting comfortably within the landscape.

At its heart, a light-filled kitchen flows into a south-facing orangery, strengthening the connection between indoor and outdoor living. To the rear, a contemporary zinc-clad pool house provides a private wellness retreat, offering the perfect space to relax and unwind.

This contemporary rear extension was designed to complement and enhance a traditional family home in Mid Ulster.

Drawing inspiration from the existing red brick architecture, the extension introduced a carefully balanced material palette where standing seam aluminium provides a modern contrast to the warmth and texture of the original dwelling.

Extensive glazing floods the new living spaces with natural light while creating a seamless connection to the rear garden and patio. A striking glazed link rooflight illuminates the heart of the floor plan and forms a distinctive architectural feature above the contemporary kitchen, bringing light, openness, and character to the space.

Situated in the rolling landscape of Co. Wexford, this contemporary single storey home is completely hidden from the roadside, allowing the architecture to engage with the site rather than dominate it.

The linear east-west plan is anchored by board-marked concrete wing walls, while subtle level changes within the entrance hall help define public and private zones.

A carefully considered material palette brings depth and character to the design, combining a dramatic fibre-cement clad roof canopy, charred timber cladding, and expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing that frames views and introduces rhythm to the elevations.

✨New build approved for a sloping rural site in County Longford ✨

Drawing inspiration from traditional agricultural buildings, this design combines familiar rural forms and materials with a modern architectural approach. A distinctive barrel roof, corrugated metal cladding and a natural stone plinth root the dwelling firmly within its landscape while giving it a strong contemporary character.

Carefully designed to take full advantage of both the rolling countryside views and the natural sunlight throughout the day with a dual aspect open plan living spaces opening onto a private evening patio area and an “upside down” living arrangement.
