We are seeking a skilled and experienced CCTV Installation Technician to join our team. As a CCTV Installation Technician, you will be responsible for installing and configuring CCTV surveillance systems for our clients. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our customers receive quality service and that their security needs are met effectively.

The ideal candidate will have three years’ experience in CCTV installation and possess technical expertise in the latest CCTV technologies. They must be detail-oriented, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team which travels together.

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV surveillance systems for our clients.
- Mount and position CCTV cameras, ensuring optimal coverage and alignment.
- Run cables and wiring for power, data, and video transmission.
- Set up and configure DVRs, NVRs, and other relevant equipment.
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve any technical issues.
- Provide on-site training and support to clients on system usage and maintenance.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in CCTV technology and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise during client consultations and project planning.
- Maintain accurate records of installation activities, equipment inventory, and service reports.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Almost all cameras that were installed over and above 3 years ago will now be providing significantly poorer images than the new 8MP range are providing.

So what were you doing this time 21 years ago? a little reminder Gladiator starring Russel Crowe was about to be released and Britney Spears released "Oops I did it again"

Meanwhile, away from the glamour of Hollywood on the 1st of May 2000 in a little village in North Wales from the back of a converted garage, I started Active CCTV & Surveillance Ltd.

I have spent this morning looking back over old pictures, different leaflets we had printed and some of our original paperwork. It was a stark reminder of just how much things have changed over those years.

Business life in 2021 is so very different to those early days, especially with regards to marketing my business, now it's all about Social Media Marketing, Websites and SEO, whereas back then it was Yellow Pages, knocking on doors and leaflet drops.

The one thing that has remained constant throughout that time though is our commitment to our customers to make sure their business is appreciated, that they receive a high-quality installation and after-sales care and the very latest CCTV products at a reasonable cost, a commitment that will continue to be the rock we build on.

So cheers to everyone who has been part of my journey so far, looking forward to the next chapter and what that might bring.

So today it was back to doing what we do best, installing new 8MP cameras on a Hotel in Llangollen that we have had the privilege to look after over the last 15 years.

The scenery was absolutely stunning on the way back and it felt only right to stop off and take this amazing picture.

It's great when a plan comes together.

Last Tuesday I received a phone call from my amazing marketing team at Clever Jellyfish asking if I could be on-site to survey a job that day. I quickly phoned the client and arranged to be there within 2 hours.

On meeting him he was extremely concerned about getting a new CCTV system installed into a new they had just taken ownership of. The time frame was extremely tight with goods arriving in the first week of December.

Between us, we were able to come up with a solution that he was happy with and one that would provide him with the coverage he needed. The written proposal was with him by lunchtime the following day and last Friday he was able to give me a verbal authorisation.

A few quick phone calls and a re-jigging of our installation diary meant that I was able to have 2 engineers on-site for the last 3 days to make sure that his new building security was going to be ready for when the stock arrives next week.

As you can see from the pictures the installation of 15 x 8MP IP Cameras is now well underway and will be finished today.
It is so important to me that when needed we can provide this level of service to make sure our customers are looked after.

I am constantly being asked about the quality of the cameras we install and just how good are they at night.

As you can see from this short clip the picture quality of the new 5MP camera is absolutely fantastic and highlights the difference between a standard low light camera using Infrared which would only be providing a mono image and the new technology that the ColorVu camera has built-in allowing you to see full colour at night.

With the clocks changing this weekend and the dark nights upon us now would be a great time to consider installing these cameras either on your place of work or your home.

Add to this the ability to log into the cameras via your mobile phone from anywhere there is 4G connectivity has to be a great way of providing when you are away from the premises.

The last few weeks it has been great to be installing CCTV a lot more on our own patch, with so much of our work being further affield it makes a nice change to not be travelling to far.
