Perennial sweet Peas.
Also known as Everlasting Sweet peas. These come back every year, and spread with runner’s underground. They can spread a good distance. Unfortunately, I think, they have no frangrance. They are great planted near shrubs they can support themselves with, to save putting canes for them to grow up.
Here are 2 photos of mine.

Handy hints

Composting. 🍂 🥚 📦 🍌

Layering is key. Green and brown.
Green layer is things like tea bags, peelings egg shells, grass clippings, leaves.
Brown layer is things like shredded paper card, twigs.
Smaller bits will compost faster, so shred your paper, rip up your egg boxes, crush your egg shells, put leaves through the mower to chop them up.
All these small thing will help your compost items break down quicker, giving you compost sooner.

FRUIT.
Have you tried growing your own fruit?

Strawberries 🍓 can be grown in the ground. But are also great in pots or hanging baskets, these also keep them out of reach of slugs.

Raspberries are easy to grow.
They spread with runners under the ground, so are ideal in large pots. They are expensive to buy so are a great, and easy thing to grow.

Gooseberries are coming back into fashion, they grow into a prickly bush. Great in pies/crumbles. Made into jam. Or as a stewed fruit.

Blackcurrants. These also grow into a bush. Very high in vtalmin C. Great on a berry compote or made into jam.

Blueberries. 🫐 These require ericaceous soil. This just means they need acidic soil to thrive. They also prefer rainwater.
So these can be a bit trickier to grow.

Another handy hint!

When it’s dry, and you are putting new plants in.
Dig the hole, then fill the hole with water, until it stops draining away into the surrounding soil. Then pop in your plant, let the roots have a soak, then fill in the soil, and water again.
By watering the hole it ensures the water isn’t immediately wicked away into the surrounding dry soil, and the roots get a good soak. Giving your plant a good start.
