Garage conversion into a home office/studio room
This is a 2/3rd conversion of a garage, with a new side door entrance .
The construction is detailed with specific sound insulation properties built into the walls.
This consists of stud work filled with sound insulation, furring bar isolation system, 15mm db board, sound mat sandwich layer, second 15mm db board . All walls and ceiling engineered to this standard. Floor is sound proofed and insulated to 60mm depth. Glass door fitted to allow light, with a second internal door to limit sound and heat escaping.
Conduit fitted for all electrics, internet included, and re wired with 10mm 3 core and new garage side consumer unit.
The sound and heat properties in this build are amazing. Almost no sound escapes what is a single skin garage, and the room heats very quickly with little to no loss . Internal walls are warm to touch, due to internal structure being completed isolated from external walls.I have measured a 5 degree loss over a 12 hour period when heating turned off. This was during below freezing conditions .
Ideal use for recording studio, music room, gaming room, streaming room, home office. Would even work as a guest bedroom.
