Update: 8 months on, and I never did hear back from him about resolving all these issues.

Although the pictures he shows look great from a distance when he comes to quote for the job, it’s not until he actually fits them that you get to see that with all the disco lights and fancy tools he has, he don’t have a clue how to use them.

Live and learn I guess, but if anyone is looking for someone to have a kitchen fitted, I can’t urge you enough to NOT call Chris at KnC Home Improvements in Corby.

If You Are Looking For A Kitchen Fitter, Steer Clear From Chris at KNC Home Improvements!

I’ve recently had a kitchen fitted by Chris Mcfadden at KNC Home Improvements in Corby, which although took him 3 weeks to complete, he never quite finished the work, and after a month, I’m still waiting for him to finish the job I paid him for.
There’s a few bits on the snagging list (listed below), but whenever I call him, he likes to hang up each and every time, so it’s quite evident to say, I don’t think I’ll be seeing him anytime soon.

Snagging List (pictures included for most of these)

• Plinth under sink was not cut to size, so doesn’t fit
• Plinth for corner larder unit, he drilled the holes too low, so the plinth doesn’t fit
• Door on unit doesn’t line up
• Shelves in cupboards are uneven, so wobble
• End panel has scratch (pictured) from when he pulled out the dishwasher in a strop. This was due to him not fitting the worktop correctly, instead decided to glue it to the top of the dishwasher. (yeah, I don’t know why either).
• Only half the kitchen had sealant around the edging, I think he got bored half way through.
• Utility room is 2 inches higher than the rest of the kitchen (as the floor slopes slightly, he measured against the adjacent room, not the floor.
• Corner cupboard door not even close to lining up. In total, I’ll be looking at approx. £1,000 to get this fixed by someone that is a real carpenter.

As it’s hard to find good trades people, I thought I should share my experience of one I recently used and hope no one else falls into the same trap as I did.
