Question of the day?

What's your favourite part about a cottage getaway?
Is it the history of the property your staying in or perhaps the cozy warm feeling you get when staying there? Maybe the countryside and log fires in the local pubs?

We would love to hear why you choose cottage getaways.

They say that the kitchen is the heart of any home and we intend on making that count here at Locks Cross Cottage.

Pams kitchen was lovingly used, to every inch and every corner. Cooking was a passion of Pams and fond memories where made here of her cooking up the yummiest of treats.

Sadly, this kitchen couldn't be saved but the memories sure will last forever. We are currently working on building a new kitchen for the cottage with some added extras, to remind us of the incredible Pam.

"A seed hidden in the heart of an apple, is an orchard invisible."

We cannot wait for families to grace us with their presence and enjoy the Locks Cross Cottage in all its glory.
This tree sits in the Locks Cross Garden surrounded by the land of Neston Park Estate.

What would you make with the apples from our apple tree? An apple pie, an apple salad maybe an apple jam... Let us know in the comments.

We know you will be as excited as we are to have discovered this beautiful original beam during our restoration.

There is always such joy to discover and reveal an authentic part of the cottage, particularly one such as this which adds an exceptional amount of charm and character.

It's located at the top of the staircase and will come with a 'mind your head' sign.

Are you a fan of beams like these? Let us know in the comments.

“In poetically well-built museums, formed from the heart’s compulsions, we are consoled not by finding in them old objects that we love, but by losing all sense of time”. - Orhan Pamuk.

There is something truly remarkable about finding treasures in this restoration, that without doing so, we would never have found.

It's as though we are uncovering a time that was once covered up and forgotten but is now being bought back to life for all to see.

Would you like to see more of our uncovered treasures? Let us know in the comments.

Come and view the magical transformation of Lacock Abbey in the run-up to Christmas, where you can explore what we have to offer over this magical festive season.

With beautifully decorated Christmas trees aplenty, a children's reindeer trail, and Father Christmas’s very own sleigh parked up carefully in the Tudor courtyard, there is plenty for all the family to do to get into the festive spirit this Christmas time.

Did you also know that Harry Potter was filmed at Lacock Abbey?

Why not come and find Hogwarts under the twinkling glow of Christmas lights.

Even if you don't visit during the festive season, Lacock Abbey is still a place of beauty and charm. And the best thing is- it's only a short 15-minute drive from us here at Locks Cross Cottage.

Have you ever visited Lacock Abbey before? Are you a Harry Potter fan? Let us know in the comments.
