Throughout March, I will donate 20% of all my decluttering earnings to , an incredible charity which helps refugees around the world.

Another day, another room. Working my way through my client's home, working with them to declutter and organise.

A cleaner, calmer child's bedroom helps the child see what they have, what they want to play with, and what they are happy to relinquish.

Labels on the storage unit makes it easier to keep toys tidy - a place for everything and everything in its place.

Why do we do it to ourselves? Every year, millions of us make New Year's resolutions only to fail before the end of January, which makes us feel guilty, and bad about our lack of motivation. That's not a healthy state of mind.

Instead, go for the little wins, the baby steps that make you feel better about yourself. Be kind to yourself as you go into a new year.

START WHERE YOU ARE

I used to work with a lady whose favourite phrase was "How do you eat an elephant? In small chunks". A strange phrase but it's so true! 🐘

If you are struggling when it comes to organising and decluttering, and you have no idea how and where to begin, just follow the same principle.

Start where you are. Sitting at your desk in your home office? Start there. Having a shower and you notice that the bathroom cabinet is overflowing with bottles? Start there.

Start small, perhaps just a drawer or one kitchen cupboard. Start where you are, do what you can and go from there, one step at a time.

The more you do it, the easier it will get. I promise!

TIDY DRAWERS!

I worked with a lovely client today to tidy and sort her young daughter's toys and clothes.

I cleared out all the clothes that were now too small and they will be given to charity.

Using the method, I was able to create more space in the chest of drawers, and enable her little girl to easily see and choose her clothes every morning. All her gorgeous clothes almost made me broody!

A fantastic storage drawer unit was a little overwhelmed so I cleared out old/broken toys and put similar items together - musical instruments, dressing up and board games/puzzles.

GARAGE GOALS

Another happy customer.

A garage that had become a dumping ground for unwanted sports gear, lots of DIY stuff and old toys has become a much clearer space, with items sorted into groups ready to sell on local selling groups and at car boot sales.
