Mason was recently called out to a property where the heating had been intermittent for years. After builders added seven extra radiators and around 100 metres of pipework without redesigning the system, the flow rate and pressure simply couldn’t cope.
After calculating the system pressure loss and the pressure drop across the Ideal Logic heat exchanger, it was clear that the system needed an extra 7 metres of pressure head to perform properly.
To put things right, he installed a SpiroCross AX Air & Dirt Separator (1¼” BSP) to separate and stabilise the system, along with a secondary circulation pump to deliver the flow needed to heat every radiator at once.
