You often ask us about outdoor plants…

Well, we’ve happily stumbled across Grown in Earlsdon. With a similar ethos to us - organic and affordable, we love them already!

Their journey is bitter / sweet and it is a joy to see fellow nature lovers in Earlsdon.

Apologies we’ve been quiet - the cat is now out of the bag! We do the social media, communications and event safety for Earlsdon Festival. It has been a busy one this year with footie celebrations on the same day!

Our love,

Faye and Dom💚

Wondering how it all works?
Just drop us a line and we can work out a day and time to suit you. We’re quite flexible with timings.

Our plants are typically £5 each, though we sometimes have larger ones for £10.

Always happy to work through which plants would best suit your lifestyle and home environment. Love it when your plants thrive.

Treated myself to a new toy…

High-tech? No!
Vintage red metal pigeon holes filled entirely with plants? Yes!

I peaked too soon during the winter months and had a disaster with some of our pothos cuttings. I was truly gutted, though nature and I learnt a tough lesson…wait until spring to plant cuttings!

I’m now super excited to have vintage red metal pigeon holes overflowing with healthy pothos!

£6 each or two for £10…

Aspidistras (Cast Iron Plant):

We have a few large aspidistras, which are over 10 years old and £10 each…

They are tough old evergreen houseplants famous for surviving neglect, hence their nickname “cast iron plant”. Ideal for homes in our climate whereby light and temperatures can vary.

Care needs:

Light
Prefers low to moderate indirect light
Perfect for north-facing rooms or shaded corners
Avoid strong direct sunlight (can scorch leaves)

Temperature
Thrives in typical UK indoor temps: 10–25°C
Can tolerate cooler rooms better than most houseplants
Keep away from frost and draughts

Watering
Water when the top few cm of soil are dry
Overwatering is the main risk and they don’t like sitting in soggy soil

Feeding
Feed monthly in spring/summer with a balanced fertiliser
No feeding needed in autumn/winter

Repotting
Slow grower: repot every 3–5 years
Likes being slightly root-bound

Maintenance
Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust
Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base
Very low pruning needed

Interesting Facts
Popular during the Victorian era - symbolised modesty and endurance. They have made a come back, with their strong structural features!
Extremely slow-growing but long-lived (decades!)
One of the best plants for low-light interiors
Generally considered non-toxic to pets (still best to avoid nibbling)
When it flowers, blooms appear at soil level and they are exquisite.

Pretty awesome option as they:
Handle low winter light
Tolerate cooler indoor temps
Survive missed watering better than most plants
Perfect if you want something almost indestructible

Spring has quietly arrived…

Longer days, softer light, and that fresh, earthy scent you only notice when everything begins to grow again.

There’s something special about this time of year….blossoms opening, birds returning, and the gentle reminder that change can be beautiful and slow.

Hope you are enjoying the warmth of our soul nurturing sunshine.

Thank you Amber, for loaning your windowsill….prop, prop, prop!

Houseplants are happiest when we try to recreate their natural habitat…

Many of the plants we keep in our homes originate from environments like tropical forests, deserts, or humid jungles.

When we understand where they naturally grow, we can connect more deeply with nature and adapt our care to their needs - light, water, humidity, and soil all matter.

When we take a moment to learn about our plants, we give them the best opportunity to thrive…

…do reach out if you have any ‘planty’ questions.

Mothering Sunday…

You are welcome to swing by tomorrow, should you wish to choose a special offering for your mummy. Happy to pop your gift in a wee bag - £5, to include plant and gift bag.

We are around for most of the day and evening on Saturday, albeit a couple of mummy taxis.

Thinking of those who find Mothering Sunday a tough day.

Passing a smile for Pass The Smile For Ben…

It was ‘bring a plant to work day’ at The University of Warwick.

Our dear friend Scott was able to source everyone’s plants from us. The pennies raised will be donated to a fundraising page, set up in Ben’s legacy. Pass The Smile For Ben raises vital funds for research into childhood cancer.

Delighted we could help. Remembering our dear little friend Ben, whose life was taken when he was seven.

Ann - you may recognise some of the pots you kindly donated - thank you! They’re all helping to raise pennies.

All our love, Faye and family💚
