Going forward from today, I will be charging a 20% deposit to secure all bookings.

This is due to a lot more cancellations and postponements over the last year.

🤔How do I get an quote?

💡That’s easy – simply visit our page and get in touch!

We’ll come and visit you and provide a proper written quote via email, or post if preferred.

Our quotes are free, no obligation quotes! We also recommend that you get other quotes too, so you can gauge the average cost of the work and materials, and make an informed decision!

🤔Do your quotes include materials?

💡Yes, yes they do! We provide the materials for the majority of our work.

This is because:

- we know how the products & materials work
- We can often source better products & materials at a cheaper cost to you
- We know how long the job will take with our preferred products & materials, so can provide you with a more accurate quote

We can work with your products and materials, but CAN NOT guarantee the quality of finish!

🤔Are there any hidden extras?

💡Absolutely not – unless you change the scope of what we’re doing, what we quote is what you pay.

Occasionally we may come across an issue, and we will discuss the options with you at this point. Most of the time we can resolve the issue without any cost to you, but sometimes the repair will prove too costly for us to cover, and everything will be fully advised at that point.

🤔How long will the work take?

💡We need to see what’s required first – even a “small” room will vary depending on its size and the amount of preparation or finish needed. But once we’ve seen it we can give you a time plan along with the cost estimate.

🤔Is there anything I need to do before painting or decorating starts?

💡It helps if you can clear the room of furniture and other items as much as possible, as this makes it easier and quicker to work on. Sometimes, however, this isn’t practical – for example, we’re used to working around office IT systems and other fittings.

🤔Do we need to remove the carpets?

💡No, we bring plenty of dust sheets and polythene sheeting with us to ensure your carpets and other items are always protected.

This is, unless, you are replacing the carpets whilst decorating the room. In these instances, we will discuss your preference at the time of the quote.

🤔What about cleaning up afterwards?

💡We always tidy up after ourselves at the end of every day, and then clean thoroughly once the project is finished.

We do work clean with very little mess, but on the off chance there is a big clean required at the end, we will outsource this to a professional cleaning company, at no cost to the client.

🤔Are you insured?

💡Yes, we have full public liability insurance plus damage insurance.

We are also insuring our hands, so the equipment that takes the biggest beating on the job is covered!

🤔Once the painting or decoration is complete, how long is it before a room is useable?

💡Paint can feel dry after about 24 hours, and you can then replace the furniture. However, it can take up to two weeks to fully set, so be careful to start with.

Especially households with pets. Where possible, keep the pet out of the room for at least 24 hours to ensure your furry friend does not change colour overnight!

Back to work after 2 weeks off 😁

Refreshed, recharged and ready for what 2022 has to offer 💪🏻

We have some exciting changes coming… one of which, is to regularly update our social media platforms. Something we have been terrible at recently 🥴

When Sophie Stewart was born in January 2013 everything appeared fine. However Sophie wasn’t crying like the other babies in the ward and she was rushed into intensive care as she wasn’t maintaining her body temperature or feeding as she should have been.

After a distressing three days, Sophie’s parents Lyndsey and Harry received the news that Sophie had Otahara Syndrome, a very rare form of epilepsy and that she would not live beyond a year old. It was around this point that Sophie was referred to Rachel House by her neurologist.

Lyndsey said: “I expected Rachel House to be the saddest place, a place that our Soph should never have to be. I was wrecked with nerves as I walked through the door. I was pregnant with my second baby, Millie, and already anxious but I got speaking to another CHAS family who really helped put me at ease.”

Sophie made great progress and Lyndsey and Harry were told they could go home with Sophie and return for respite whenever they needed it. In 2017, the couple decided to get married and the only place on earth they wanted to say their vows was at Rachel House with Sophie and Millie watching on.

“I’ll never forget how much effort the staff went to for us. They brought that little bit of CHAS magic to our day and we were safe in the knowledge that Sophie was being well looked after,” said Lyndsey.

Sophie has exceeded her life expectancy and the family have been told she could be here for another ten years. It’s with your love and support we can be there for families like Sophie’s, so they can make precious memories together.
