As always we have poured our time, thought and graft into this installation. And what a difference it has made. The stove is a larger 5kw Ecosy Elk in Burnt Grey with stainless fittings. On a raised tiled hearth with a ceramic wood effect beam. The chimney has been swept and lined with a 904 flexible flue liner suitable for multifuel burning. With bird guard as standard. We have also strengthened this chimney breast. An old crack in the plaster was a sign that from the left corner brickwork to the middle was fairly wobbly!

Now is also a great time of year to get your chimney swept if you already have a bird guard on top.

It's been a week of stone surrounds! We installed a Gallery Limestone surround and cast iron insert ready for a coal effect gas fire. And the Cast Tec Durham in black granite with a Hunter Parkray Aspect 7 Multifuel stove running on a Scheidel Tecnoflex flue liner system. Both these projects still have a little way to go but that's the really messy knockouts and chimney sweeping done first. Please give us a call or message to see how we can work with your ideas.

Busy day today opening up downstairs and repairing this chimney stack!

Dodgy installation put right on Thursday. Only a year old. Flue liner not connected to the adapter, clearances to combustible beam not observed, chimney not swept properly prior to liner installation amongst other things. Deadly Carbon monoxide and fumes risk, fire hazard. The Carbon monoxide alarm wasn't fixed up on the wall so wouldn't have been detecting anything either.
This was installed by a HETAS registered installer. Even charged for chimney liner insulation - can confirm none present.

Another great before and after here. This really shows just what we can do to bring dated fireplaces back to life while retaining period features. It's not often we can use wooden surrounds due to rules on clearances to combustible materials but sometimes it works! This will certainly kick out more heat than the old electric, pretend open fire.
