Another blind finished today for my sewing room in our new home. This one in a Harlequin fabric called Lleyna. I love the bold colour way. I turn my back for a few days and then find this beauty in my dahlia bed! Due to not labelling correctly over winter it may be Labyrinth or Cafe au Lait … The dahlia and cut flower beds are now in full bloom (our new house being built in background) and I have buckets of flowers all ready to be made into posies in the morning. Moody evening skies over Icklesham this evening! All proceeds to St Michaels Hospice.

This evening’s harvest from the cutting garden - dahlias and cosmos - being made into posies to be delivered tomorrow. Can’t tell you how much joy this brings each and every time I go picking. And especially now I have my beautiful French flower basket to gather them in!

As part of my quest to be a proper flower growing sort of person I’ve long lusted after a Sussex trug for when I’m collecting my cut flowers ... but today in France happened upon this beautiful basket which will do the job very nicely. The seller told me that it’s ergonomically designed and indeed it does fit my arm beautifully! A very happy find ...

More posies out for delivery this morning as part of Grow to Give and .floral.project. I was able to include sweet peas again after giving them a severe haircut and a good feed a few weeks ago (not great timing for Open Gardens weekend but hey ho!). They’ve rewarded me by producing loads more flowers. Being brave definitely pays! I’m also SO pleased with my Ammi Visnaga, grown from seed, which is now looking beautiful in amongst roses sweet peas and summer alliums. I’ve never had any success before. A rewarding morning’s pick today!

I recently spent a lovely day with my friend the wonderful and very talented . These are my favourites from her new collection. Can’t wait to use them in my own home once it’s finished being renovated. She also has a gorgeous range of Pom pom trims to complement the range. Love a pompon trim!
