If you want the best results from your garden or vegetables you need to get composted horse manure.
I advise my customers to get the product 6 months before they need to use it. Store it so it does not get saturated and in 6 months time it will be absolutely perfect to plant direct into.
The most fertile product that can be used.

Too many people leave it too late to feed their beds or mulch their veg patch.
Get your composted horse manure in the autumn for the spring. Or simply 6 months in advance.
Store it however you can and let the worms do their stuff.
Seriously do this and you will have the most beautiful potting compost you can imagine.

Start thinking about the autumn now for your allotment mulching.
After you have cleared your veg put down cardboard over you growing area and 3 inches of my material and you have a no dig allotment.
