🌸 What a month May has been here at The Windowman!
🌊From Weymouth to Wellington, Crewkerne to Crediton, Bridport to Bridgwater, our teams have been clocking up the miles and transforming homes across Dorset, Somerset and East Devon.
And as always, no two weeks have looked quite the same.

We’ve installed everything from hup! extensions and full-house double glazing projects, to sliding patio doors ready for summer garden parties, beautiful composite front doors, replacement conservatory roofs, heritage-style windows, and those all-important repair and single-unit replacement jobs that keep homes warm, secure and looking their best.

That’s one of the things we love most about what we do, one day we’re creating a stunning new living space with a hup! extension. The next we’re carefully matching a single replacement unit or restoring the character of a property with heritage windows. Whether it’s a new roof, a stylish front door, a warm conservatory, or a full home transformation, every job matters to us.

A huge thank you to all our customers who have trusted us with their homes this month, and to our hardworking office, surveying and fitting teams who make it all happen behind the scenes.

As the Premier League season draws to a close, with all the drama, pressure and big-money moments that top-flight football brings… we’re reminded that some of the most important football in the country happens much closer to home. ⚽❤️

At The WindowMan, one of the greatest privileges of being a local business is being able to support local teams, clubs and organisations that sit right at the heart of the community.
Turn up on a Sunday morning and you’ll find far more than just a football match. You’ll see mums and dads on the sidelines, brothers and sisters having a kickabout nearby, aunties and grandparents wrapped up with a flask in hand… all cheering the kids on (often both teams, and that kind of sportsmanship …we salute it! 👏).

This season also marks a proud moment for Dean, with The WindowMan sponsoring Weymouth Under 8s, the very team his little boy has played for in his first season of football. Something tells us those Sunday mornings will be remembered for a very long time.
Good luck to all the young players already counting down to next season. Keep enjoying it, keep supporting each other, and keep making your communities proud. 💙⚽

One minute we’re reaching for the sun cream… the next we’re shutting the doors against sideways rain.

🚪 Doors Through the Decades 🏡

We had a bit of fun looking back at some of the key (no pun intended 😉) front door trends from the last 100 years.

From handcrafted timber doors with stained glass panels, through the bold colours and teak styles of the 70s, right up to today’s sleek composites and heritage-inspired designs… front doors have come a long way.

Behind the changing styles, we’ve also seen huge advances in technology, materials, security, and energy efficiency. Doors today are warmer, safer, lower maintenance, and more customisable than ever before, but every decade has had its own charm and character.

Our Crewkerne showroom will be closed tomorrow as the team heads off to celebrate a very special occasion… 🥂

One of our team members, Dan, is getting married! 🎉

We’ll all be joining in the celebrations and would like to wish Dan and his partner a huge congratulations from all of us here at The Window Man ❤️

We'll teach you everything from scratch. - learning the ropes of installing windows, doors, conservatories and more.You’ll be working alongside skilled fitters who’ve been installing for years (some started as apprentices themselves 👀), picking up real skills on real jobs. You don't need experience. You need a good attitude, a willingness to graft, and the kind of personality that fits in with a team.

What you’ll be doing:
* Assisting with window & door installations
* Learning tools, techniques and site skills
* Working on homes across Somerset, Dorset & beyond
* Being part of a team that takes real pride in what they do

What we’re looking for:
* Reliable and willing to learn
* Good attitude (this matters more than experience)
* Happy to work outdoors and get stuck in
* Team player, a bit of banter helps too

What you’ll get:
