Last week we had a very interesting hemlock removal, the tree was struck by lightening which bifurcated it and caused significant electrical damage to the property. The remaining top stayed upright for a number weeks before it failed!
When climbing the tree we found large open cracks reaching almost to the base. Because of this we decided that using an assisted fell with our capstan winch was the safest way to deal with this tree.
As you can see from the last video we where right to play it safe!
