Delighted to see our project at Penicuik House on outskirts of Edinburgh in heart of Penicuik estate has been named a finalist in the leisure and recreation Category @ Johnstones painter of year awards this year.

Makes it extra special for us with it being held in Scotland this year. Emotionally proud of all involved to deliver this unique project that don’t come around yearly.

From the start of this project I worked closely with the interior designer.
1st Discussion was product proposal. Didn’t take much thinking as Johnstones paints was my only choice due to the range they offer and suited this project to a T.

We used traditional oil paints on woodwork and various waterbased products on ceilings and walls to suit the environment. Using different techniques to apply the products. Mostly hand applied but used airless sprayer on detailed intricate areas.
We also complemented the rooms with some amazing wallcoverings that were expertly hung.

Johnstones also supplied us with all fire coat systems for all different substrates throughout the building due to it changing use of the building to protect personnel’s and the building throughout.

Johnstones paints service was outstanding and played a massive part in delivering this project. With it being rural it wasn’t the easiest place to deliver to but they certainly didn’t disappoint. Fiona Brown was on the pulse. So thank you once again it was much appreciated as always.

Winners will be revealed on 16 May - wish us luck.

Was up re visiting Penicuik House yesterday with PPG and the Scottish Decorators' Federation
This project turned out amazing and was to good not to enter it into competition category’s.
Walking round and I am proud of our team off what can be achieved when you put your mind to it.
As always guidance is key.
